best used SUV for $10k
 

Whats the best used car/SUV for $10k?

I want a 96 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer and get it fixed up, but looking for other suggestions.

Possibles

Toyota FJ60/Landcruiser Early 90s maybe
Land Rover Discovery 95-96

I was also thinking about just the classic Chevy Tahoe with leather of course..

You can get a decent Jeep Grand Cherokee for about that price. 96-98 probably.

Not a bad SUV.

Opel Frontera '98 or Mitsubishi Pajero '95-97 (if lucky)

either one of those is going to be rather difficult to find in the states. :glugglug

What the hell country are those from?

Those are nice, and reliable. Hard on gas though with the 5.7L, if you're worried about that.

but he didn't say he was looking for one in N.America

actually, if you're nice to them they usually get better mileage than a jeep limited, _especially_ if the limited has the v8. those limiteds are FRIGHTENING on gas.



i found an opel once, in an import junk yard with lots of vw stuff!

and if you consider the small block chevy is like the cheapest internal combustion engine in history to maintain, that makes up for it :):)
