Why do you call that an "UNeducated guess"? It was very obvious that there was a huge military mismatch between the US and Iraq.

Just because some of you were mislead by your local leaders into thinking Iraq had a chance this time, just because an opinion peace in your local newspaper claims that the US really doesn't have the most powerful military in the world and just because your local TV broadcasters got all excited and tried to turn a few suicide bombers into the Russians at Leningrad doesn't mean you have to be haters.

Wrong. It was an educated guess. I spent 12 years in the military, but in addition I have been a student of the art of war and the history of warfare. I also still have frequent contact with friends that are still active duty military ranging from Brigadiers down. I also try to stay up with the current military status of different countries that are potential enemies of the USA.

The USA has taken control of Iraq for a multitude of reasons, which have been explained by me, and others, repeatedly. WMD materials being only one of the reasons, and not even the most important of the reasons.

he doesn't know the level of training or whether or not there would be street fighting. nobody knew for sure what was gonna happen. there were basically three possibilities with a short one month war and a 1-3 month war being the most likely.

theking you just got lucky with your uneducated guess. if there was street fighting nobody would have noticed your prediction at all and it just would have gone away.

I was very familiar with their level of training, discipline, arms, and tactics. It was because of this familiarity that I predicted that there would be little, if any, street to street fighting. Because I am very familiar with our tactics and arms, I knew, beyond any doubt, that street to street would not be conducted with our Infantry on point, as has been the case in past urban warfare.

Several on this board posted that the battle for Baghdad would take months-years. Those are the uneducated guesses.

And you had intimate intel on the state of training and capabilities and morale of the Iraqi troops as well, right?
