need ppl with Ebay accounts

I need 1-2 people with Ebay accounts with over 20 feedback. You have to be able to list Buy It Now auctions. I have an item that can be sent via Email that is selling for $60-70 on Ebay. I'll give it to you for half the selling price. You take the payment, send me half, and I give the item to the winner. Contact me at [email protected] or ICQ 211112936

Thanks

Theo 04-12-2003 09:54 PM

what is it? your grandma's recipes?

detoxed 04-12-2003 09:57 PM

not telling to the public. but put one on ebay for $60 with Buy It Now it'll be sold within 4 hours, you get $30 I get $30, pay with Paypal or whatever.

Babaganoosh 04-12-2003 10:02 PM

Not making enough $ from selling your signature? :winkwink:

detoxed 04-12-2003 10:03 PM

i make more than half the people on this board no doubt. but I'm not gonna turn down an extra $10 from selling my sig space.

Theo 04-12-2003 10:04 PM

detoxed 04-12-2003 10:06 PM

Riiiight. Hope you make enough money so your cable doesn't get shut off. Just be honest man, people here will be a lot more willing to help out a nice, honest person with no money rather than someone who claims to "make more than half the people on this board" (which I don't want to call you on....but come on lets be honest here).

cash69 04-12-2003 10:07 PM

i'll take your signature for 10 bux icq = 116337464 :Graucho

detoxed 04-12-2003 10:08 PM

If this guy sends me the $10 I will have made more than half the people on this board in the last 10 minutes :)

But seriously, if you have an Ebay account and want to sell $400 a day worth of shit, let me know.

psyko514 04-12-2003 10:12 PM

Burtman 04-13-2003 05:20 AM

Are you selling the secret location to a webiste where you can buy brand new PS2's and X-Box's for $1.50? Those are great auctions.

I got seriously burned doing something similar on ebay.

I used to race in a game called "motor city online" and when you win, you get fake cash to buy new parts and what not.

Well i had it down to a serious science! I was pulling some rediculous cash off this, heh

Then one day one of my regular customers decides to charge back about $800.00 and paypal did not protect me.

They said because i was unable to provide proof of TRACKING, not delivery ... they were unable to protect me as a seller.

Id advise you to stay clear from this. Yes it may be an honest auction, but things go wrong.

BTW i had 300+ transactions via paypal, and 100+ feedback on ebay ... no disputes on either. They still wouldnt beleive me and they wouldnt accept an email from the customer to me saying how he got the item. They just didnt want any part of it.

PayPal does warn you about disputes. There's notice that says that only physical items can be disputed.

I know that. Thats why my paypal acct is still -$600 after almost a year, LOL!!!

But i was just warning you guys. Sounds like you are the one to collect the cash then send half to this other guy, the dispute may fall on you.

Not saying its likely, i used to do a TON of those email auctions, and made alot of money with them.

Just giving my 2cents hoping to help someone avoid a possible disaster.

Theres no such thing as free money, lol

if i were you, i would do it myself..

i do have an ebay account but i dont wanna do it, because what you are saying is too good to be true.. i dont see a reason why you wouldnt get your account and do it yourself...

detoxed 04-13-2003 11:43 AM

My account was suspended by Ebay. I sold $4k of items IN ONE DAY. Paypal froze my account, citing "our user agreement says we can suspend anyone for anything" $4k was stuck in this account, I couldnt even login to send refunds. Tons of Ebay complaints = suspended Ebay account.

I cant do it myself. I have enough people already though, thanks everyone.

He's selling something sketchy that will get you banned quick on eBay. That's why he doesn't do it himself. He's ran out of credit cards to register with.

it was a pretty nice scam.

I sent you two messages yesterday.

If it's not sketchy, why are you keeping it so quiet? And why don't you register a new eBay account?

You're looking for trustworthy sellers who can put up BIN auctions, because eBay has less of a chance of shutting them down.

If I'm wrong, tell us all what you're selling.

For anyone that wants to know what this is (most likely) about....

It's pretty fraudulent....

Someone wants an XBOX, types in xbox... and sees:
( Example Ebay Title)

NEW Microsoft XBOX with Games!! - info

The buyers visually scan the auction, see a pic of an XBOX (or whatever the scam product is, using xbox as example) some games, new box.. yay.

Then they look to see what the price is...
$99 BUY IT NOW!? Wtf?

Then they QUICKLY look at the sellers feedback to make sure hes got a bit of feedback so they feel safe... oh wow.. 20 feedback!! its legit!!

They click the buy it now, send the $99 via paypal & get an email with information about how they can get a new XBOX and games (use your imagination).

What they failed to do was fully read the auction - because they were trying to take advantage of what they thought was a seller who didn't know how much his product was worth - ooops.

Had they read the auction, they would have read that it was not for the XBOX & GAMES itself, but for INFORMATION on how to get one.

There was a thread about this awhile back. People would use scam feedback rings and buy a bunch of $1 or less items to run their feedback up to a "trustworthy" 50-100 positives, then wait 30 days or 90 days or whatever it is for the auctions that generated the feedback to no longer be looked up... then they would launch $10,000 to $20,000 of these fraudulent buy it now auctions in a day -- and it would work.

Eventually these guys will be getting a knock on their door...either from the feds, or from some disgruntled customer.

Bottom line if both your paypal AND ebay accounts are frozen as a result of this, and your running around here looking for a bunch of people with ebay accounts, its probably sketchy :1orglaugh

Why would be a problem for the seller if he states everything clealy on the auction. Ok, he is taking advantage of the stupidity of the people, but wtf fed can do about it? Btw, i agree on the pissed customers part.

That scam reminds me of this one...

[X] also try adult site 1 for 3 days FREE - recurrs at $39.99
[X] also try adult site 2 for 3 days FREE - recurrs at $39.95
[X] also try adult site 3 for 3 days FREE - recurrs at $49.99
[X] also try adult site 4 for 3 days FREE - recurrs at $29.95

Like the dick-in-hand surfer really expected to be charged over $100 for when a site has $2.99 or FREE plastered all over it.

Sure, the surfer should have read the terms (cause people are out to get him), but the business operator should have had a little better business ethics & respect for the people that put food on their plates & exotic cars in their driveways.

And people wonder why VISA hates us so. :1orglaugh

We're sooooooooo going to get more regulation. As long as anything we do can be viewed as deceptive anyway.

psyko514 04-13-2003 11:38 PM

I'm pretty confident that this is what this guy is trying to pull. Or something like selling pictures of popular items (video games, car parts, brand name clothing) and then he emails various pictures of the item to the winning bidder (who has sent him $99 thru paypal for the item)

He's looking for established accounts with good feedback so he can seem trustworthy. Also, with +10 feedback, the auction can have a BIN meaning it's less likely to be shut down by eBay.

He's asking other people to do it because his eBay account has been suspended and his Paypal account has been frozen.

There actually isn't anything illegal because everything is clearly stated. It's deceptive, but not fraudulent and eBay's motto is "caveat emptor" (buyer beware).

That is what I figure, too. People can say, "It's their fault for not reading it," or whatever, but it's still a lame bullshit scam. People, think about it: "Must be able to post Buy It Now auctions." That should tell you all you need to know about whether or not you want to be involved in this.

If this were even a vaguely legitimate venture, I think he would have told us what it is, by now. He isn't even giving clues.

He gave many clues, just not intentionally.
He's walking around with a big dick saying how he makes more money than half the people here... he may be telling the truth, but at least the 50% are making it without scamming people.
