GFY needs a digest
I'm aware that there are a number of independent people reporting on the industry as a whole- the one site that has a digest for GFY is really rocketing right now.
But even that site isn't a thorough plumbing of data- it's more about producing readable, timely current events journalism- rather than information resource piling. It's a good read, and it pulls traffic like mad, but doesn't inform comprehensively- doesn't give you a sense of the sort of expert wisdom you could trust to find everything. There is a hidden problem of time efficiency with all of the individual webmasters reading through so much useless text. Don't get me wrong- you can find just about anything by searching for it. But you have to know it exists first. That is the primary disconnection in every webmaster's "information tool chain". I think we're about to see very serious efforts at doing this in a comprehensive way, perhaps divided by expert topic. Most of the information out there is crafted for consumption- what I'm talking about is hardcore, verifiable data mining- the prime directive of the author being to inform their audience 100%. |

Oh we all know GFY is full of useful information, it's just hidden. I know, I frequently post, then read. :) |

I'm just talking about traversing the span of a huge inefficency in a much shorter step. |
