Cam revshare type preference

Some cam sites require users to pay money at the time of signup and others let users register a free account and work with tokens.

What is everybodies experience with profits looking at one vs the other.

I assume the token type would be a better deal and get more signup long term.

Free and tokens like Chaturbate, the product speaks for itself. I think that's the best way to go.

I like being able to give the user a choice not just make them have to buy tokens on signup a lot of the time you will get members watching for months or years before they start paying.

Our site runs on credits but we hand out 120 for free for all new accounts to let users get a feel for it. In my experience cams still aren't intuitive to all types of users so letting them taste before buying is the best way to go.

On the flip, we also offer a VIP monthly option for more content and a higher 'ranking' to which models pay more attention to.

In our business model a customer (user) can sign up free for free member benefits. He pays nothing to us and we pay nothing to an affiliate or model.

Signing up for a free membership ensures that when he (the referred new member) does buy a credits package (like tokens) the referrer (affiliate/model) gets his cut (% rev-share ) -- up to 35% of the money PAID.

Members might spend $100's to $1,000's over their membership's lifetime. New members are worth $200 -$500 to referring affiliates (or models) over time usually.

at the end it's up to your traffic, best thing would be to test both options and see what works for you best.

This is right, do a test and evaluate.

I have running as a "pay when you sign up" affiliate for about a year now. Looking in analytics i see TONS of people hit the signup page and then the leave. Yep i agree. I think it would be better to allow them to join and get a taste before having to whip that card out.
