Leave Iraq for the Iraqi's
 

At the moment most political pundits are screaming the coalition should get out and leave Iraq for the Iraqi's or the UN.

Great idea, at the moment there's looting, rioting and the situation is out of control. In fact Baghdad is more dangerous now than when the troops were fighting.

The looting has spread to schools, hospitals and even museums.

The fighting seems to be splitting between Shia and Sunni muslims.

Yes leave them to it, hopefully they will all kill each other.

The coalition needs to establish a controlling (police) force as soon as possible until the UN can take over that job. The UN should then uphold order until a new Iraqi regime has been established which is capable of upholding order itself.

I honestly think "Winning the Peace" is going to be the hard part, beating their army was easy. If the US lets the UN take over now "Under Pressure" of course they will look as if they are the good guys.

Stay and the whole thing could degenerate into chaos, with the US trying to hold it together. Let the UN screw it up. Could leave a few brigades just put them into the light blue berets.

The only reason there are not a lot of US companies doing business before the war was because of sanctions. Now with Saddam gone they can compete with the French and Russians.

The UN has hardly even bugun to start there. They just took over a country man, How much faster can they do it without Loss of lives. LIfe is the main goal here not Material things to loot.

The US will form a military administration for at least the next 6 months coaching up a new leader and getting ready to hand over to the UN once commercial contracts are established.
