There's usually a pickup game of roller blade hockey in one of the parking lots on Santa Monica beach on the weekends... a few blocks north of Ocean Park Blvd. The guys who play look pretty good, IMHO.

On a side note I was surprised several years ago to see just how big the sport has grown at the grassroots level down there in LA. A bunch of NHL'ers came out of there which is awesome to see.
