Need beta testers for new submit form filler
http://www.free-pixxx.net/vh.gif
OK here's the deal. I'm almost done with this semi-auto gallery submitter. As of now it: Creates gallery files with recip links Navigates to the submit pages and fills in forms for you Allows you to customize the TGP database The e-mail confirmer is done but it hasn't been integrated into the program interface yet. When I release the first beta it may or may not be completed. I need 5 people or so to beta test it. If you beta it you'll get a copy and account now, and you'll get a free lifetime membership. So far it works pretty good. Another day of solid work and it should be ready. I need to expand the TGP database and make some other cosmetic changes as well as add whatever features I think will be helpful. I origionally only wanted to use it myself but I figure other people might want it as well. If you beta test what I want is a short explination of what you like/dislike about it and some suggestions on how to improve it. I'm also open to suggestions for new features. If you wanna give it a go e-mail [email protected] with your contact info and your board name as well as why you think you're qualified to test it(if you're a pretty experienced gallery submitter you'll do fine). Basically first come first serve unless you're a total newbie who isn't experienced in the TGP submission field. Looking forward to getting some helpful feedback! Should be ready for testing by tomorrow night/sunday and maybe monday at the latest if I'm really busy with other things. |
Looks good, I'll send you an email later tonight or something:thumbsup
how many beta testers are you looking for? |

Probably 5 or so testers, I'll go with a little more if I get some really qualified people who I think can make this a better app. My main concern is building a quality product. |

Oh another thing, do you think I should keep it focused on speeding up "hand submissions" or should I add an autosubmitter for the 1984732984 smaller TGP's out there?

may i make a suggestion?
multiple browser windows are nice so you dont have to wait for the site to load/check before starting on the next |
I don't know if you have this or not, but semi-auto gallery URLS, so when you loads a page with tgp1 tgp2 or tgp3, it automatically uses index23.html in the URL and recip area. If you understand what I mean.

Not interested myself but a couple of questions from curiousity.
First, is there some reason why you think yet another app in this category is needed? I mean, if you wrote this originally for yourself i assume that you felt all the other submission apps were lacking in some respect that you want to improve upon. If so how and how? Second, why not let a newb or two test it? After all, submitting galleries is something a high percentage of newbs do and i would think they would be a significant part of the market for it. And newbs might also give you better feedback on its intuitiveness and usability. You might not like all their stupid questions but if you provide support for the finished product you are gonna get them eventually anyway (ref to the first question). Why not eliminate many of them now? I assume you dont want to market to newbs but just thought i would ask. I remember studying history about how the most money was made during the california gold rush by the folks who sold the picks and shovels, if you catch my drift. |

As far as selling shovels during the gold rush, I see what you're saying but I do think this is different. Alot of people develop programs like Russian Submitter and appeal to people looking for quick hits. These days it's all about getting as much traffic as you can any way you can and try to make money by volume. How many of these choker TGP's would die after a few hours of downtime? How bad are the conversion rates gonna get before all these quick buck newbie aspiring millionaires give up? TheHun will always be around, and it will always make money. Surfers depend on it for fresh high quality galleries. Most of the visitors are type in's so they haven't been jerked around a ton of times. Chances are that if you are the first one on thehun to get a new niche site listed, the conversion ratios are gonna be better than a tgp with users that've been jerked around everywhere and already seen the site on a big TGP.
As far as other programs already being out, there needs to be at least some variety. I could have just used advanced submitter, but I may as well make my own if I can. If it's really a useful tool I may as well make some money. Personally I feel advanced submitter is a pain in the ass to use, but I'm a programmer who's used to coding all his own stuff for his personal use. If that one works out just right for you, by all means use that one. I won't talk shit about the competition or try to get rich off someone else's idea. The real proof will be in the response from people who use it. |
Oh yeah, everyone who e-mailed me check your mail. I think I accepted everyone. It's a tad late due to other obligations and some unplanned debugging time, but at least it's here.
|
OK sorry I've been up all night with the classic programmers insomnia. I keep thinking of more things I want to say. I didn't pick everybody for this beta, but I do plan to let everyone who emailed me before today give it a test run.
