We've been having problems with flooding now for months. It's gotten old. We have a small river that runs through our city and it's been flooding every time it rains, closing down streets. We've been lucky; Our city just finished a large flood control project that most likely saved us from serious harm.

My roof is still leaking and I have a huge hole in my ceiling. The insurance company is unable to to get someone out here until Wednesday because there are so many insurance claims.

There are and will always be disagreements. The President is supposed to be the president for EVERYONE in the US, not just the people that kiss his ring.

Chris Christie insulted Obama non-stop but Obama didn't hesitate to personally fly in to NJ and provide emergency funds after Hurricane Sandy.

Can't Starbucks start paying tax and pay repair that wall against water?
Or Starbucks maybe can hire refugees that can repair that wall?

What happened to the drought? When the lady & I took our road trip and drove up cali all you heard was the drought the drought the drought but all I seen was green crops. "It's a political drought they said, not an actual drought as the growers get first dibs on the water." Well, now it's up for grabs. I just hope feinstein or whatever crazy lib femenist had the infrastructure in place to catch all that water and to distribute it in common. If not this is one of the greatest failures of socialism in the modern times

The drought is over.

We didn't have a "political drought". You could see it every where - everything was brown. California went from being green to being brown.

There was some politics being played in Central California where most of the farmers are located. Water was re-routed to Southern California so folks down there had water, and yet more water was taken away from farmers due to some action in Congress.

The rain we've had this season has ended the drought, but now we face the flip side of the coin - We cannot handle this water. Here in my hometown streets have been closed for weeks at a time, and in other areas some major roads are closed due to mud slides and roads collapsing. My roof is leaking and took out part of my ceiling; I cannot get the insurance company to even come out and look at it because they are swamped.

I wonder if Donalds mind is so small that he thinks he should only placate his base.

For every dollar California sends the feds we get back 77 cents. States like Tennessee get about $2 for every $1 they send in, we subsidise them. Funny that so many red States rely on federal funds to survive.

Our government has said we'll just stop sending out money to the feds if Trump chooses to cut off federal "aid". There's no sense in putting into a system you'll get nothing out of.

The Federal Government doesn't step in until formally requested by the state - which Gov. Brown hasn't done yet.

FEMA is already there with Region 9 responding for help with housing shelters, etc...The President is not allowed by law to step in unless requested

All these people screaming about failures ought to know that the Federal Govt is not mommy....they dont make things "all better" when it comes to operating a Republic - that's why states rights are so important :thumbsup

Yes he did, he requested aid in writing on Friday after declaring a state of emergency.

California Gov. Jerry Brown asks President Donald Trump for emergency help

PornDiscounts-V 02-13-2017 05:04 PM

The federal government should NOT pay disaster relief unless there is an actual disaster like Hurricanes Katrina and Sandy. Or a massive Earthquake like we haven't seen in the US, ever.

Otherwise, you build your fucking house on a hillside and it comes rumbling down on you, fuck you! Don't build a house on a fucking hillside!

You build your home in a flood control area, fuck you! Don't complain when the rain fills it into a reservoir.

If your state needs help, make your own fucking help by not allowing stupid shit.

That is not for this disaster - that request is for the cleanup of the mudslides and rain damage that has been ongoing - this thread was specifically about the Dam which has not had Federal help requested for it - Yet

As I said - FEMA is already there they were called out of Region 9 a few days ago to help with the Dam - A formal request in writing has to be made specifically for the Dam issue the OP is referring to to get the Federal Govt involved

Almost every red state takes more from the feds than they put in, lot more. Republicans are lying hypocrits, saying one thing and doing another when it comes to federal funds.

If Trump doesn't send FEMA for 200,000 displace people and a busted dam then he'll stop making the billions in federal deposits every year and use that money to help ouselves and balance out budget. Californi is a "donor state" that send more to the feds than we get back fuck that.

California pays more in taxes than it takes in. Two hundred thousand Americans have just been evacuated from their houses for forty-eight hours, with no idea when they can return. This might take weeks.

The White House has yet to comment on this.

This has got to be a joke, right?

i really think it is a fake news. i could not see it on any of the big media yet and it sounds really that crazy that not even dump can be so stupid.

but what i wonder is, that dump-supporters do not doubt on it and take it serious.
even more they do not show any compassion for a a complete US region what might have even dump-supporters in trouble.

that is the most horrific part on that thread.

including this statement as OFFICIAL statement?

Quote:

?The President has no incentive in helping the state of California. The state harbors more illegal immigrants than any other state and has multiple sanctuary cities that violate federal laws. The state very publicly supported Hillary Clinton throughout the election and the President views the state as being responsible for his loss in the popular vote, something he has had trouble with accepting. They have also recently threatened to leave the Union through their #CalExit campaign, and the President sees this as an opportunity to let them deal with the consequences of their exit. There is a sickness within the liberals in this country that they are not willing to address. Until they understand what ails them can they hope to find the cure. This is a step in the right direction in finding the #CureForWellness. ?
if that is really an OFFICIAL statement he is out because that would mean that he broke his swear what is in favour of all Americans no matter if they voted for him or not.
Not even hitler would have dared such a thing.
