New Media Studios in Arizona Court for Prostitution
Sounds like it could be frivolous to me, hard to tell. What are your thoughts? I've never seen their content has anyone else?
Somehow he was making $40k a month profit they say' ---- A man who operated the Phoenix adult film studio New Media Studios actually was deceiving women into prostituting themselves by convincing them he operated a legitimate business, a Maricopa County prosecutor said Wednesday during opening statements in the man's criminal trial. Deputy County Attorney Vanessa Cuevas, however, compared the business to putting "lipstick on a pig.'' She told the jury that no one was producing pornography at New Media Studios.Cuevas told jurors that Hartwell deceived the women, "to get them to sell their bodies for financial gain." Authorities previously said the business was raking in about $40,000 a month in profit. Cuevas said a woman who worked for New Media Studios told authorities she was choked and gagged while she was forced to perform oral sex on Hartwell until vomiting. William James Hartwell, owner of New Media Studios, which operated in an industrial area of Phoenix, is charged with operating a house of prostitution, sex trafficking and sexual assault. Hartwell, 56, says the sex acts that were recorded and photographed at the studio were constitutionally protected free speech because it operated as a legal adult film studio. Porn or prostitution? Trial underway for Phoenix studio owner |
There is a huge difference between producing porn and paying someone to make a video for their personal collection.

Interesting defence; sexually assault someone but because it was recorded on camera it was free speech.....

Edit: ok I found in another article: Clients contacted the business and were directed to the location. Once there, they received paperwork to sign, according to court documents. The paperwork states explicitly that ?he is paying to have his pornographic fantasy recorded, according to court documents. The operators would also perform a ?check? for sexually transmitted diseases that required customers to drop their pants and expose themselves, according to records. Investigators believe this was as much an attempt to screen for law-enforcement officers, who might be prohibited from exposing themselves, than it was to check for diseases, according to court documents. Once inside, the customer met with a woman in a private room where photos were taken. Then, according to court documents, the customer was told he ?could do whatever he wanted.? The women told clients that they made money taking photos and ?whatever else happens, happens,? according to records." Phoenix brothel hid behind porn ruse, police say |

A "free" country where full grown adults can go to jail for taking money to fuck.
I guess Benjamin Franklin would have already been thrown in jail many times for paying hookers in our modern repressed society. And to think that he and the rest of the founding fathers envisioned this country as "enlightened" and free from religious horseshit. On the first US currency the motto that Franklin himself designed said:"Mind your own business" How far we have gone from the founding fathers dream of a govt. that serves the people into a govt. that rules over us. |
