Insomnia? Do you have it?
I think I might be an insomniac. When I tell my family they tell me I should go see a doctor about it.. but I kinda like it, it makes me more productive.

I think insomnia is inability to sleep. If I went and tried to sleep right now...I could in a heart beat. Instead I'm up for no real good reason (just working). I think it's a lack of self-discipline, not insomnia.

normally i do sleep at night cause i gotta wake up bright and early and go to AEBN in the mornings...but i got the flu and cant even leave my bed, let alone fall asleep :/

Being a Health professional and working 12 hour nite shift since 2 years now. Even when I am off my interal clock is set like that. I find myself more productive as well nite time.
But lak of sleep long term make you vegetable in front a computer... Now thats called insomia at that point. But i can assure that the best sleeping pill is sex... :winkwink: |

hope something will help me out coz I just can't fall asleep at night and wake up at 6 every morning without any need or visible reason and feel really fucked up all day long :(

Don't get me started! Feels like I haven't slept in weeks! :( I am so tired and I can't seem to fall asleep! Then again you try finding a comfortable position with a 6 pound baby in your belly!

too many people associate being night owls with insomnia.
i have insomnia, meaning I CANNOT GO TO SLEEP. i have bee plagued by this since i was a kid, not being able to sleep during the school week nights and sometimes it deeply affected things, but i never made bad grades, was up all ngiht reading. ;) just because you like to see the sun come up doesnt mean you have insomnia. i've watched the sun rise for years :glugglug |

Yeah I would get checked out to make sure you actually have it. Its totally different then the shit you can cause by bad habits.
Becoming a webmaster like 5 years ago was so cool at the beginning, but it seems you can get addicted to staring at the computer, staying up on your own terms, rather than a typical day when the sun comes up. And if you keep treating your body like shit, staying up until you pass out, sleep, do the same thing over and over, deprive yourself of sleep, don't take breaks, don't eat right or exercise, it can really fuck you up. I gained a bunch of weight without paying attention, sat on my ass and crammed shit down my throat and bad shit started to happen. I gained enough weight to where it made it hard to physically get comfortable to sleep, and the computer screen annoyed the hell out of me. So just to live well again I went cold turkey and did everything around a health lifestyle. Meals are planned in advanced, healthy homecooked shit 90% of the time, once in a while treats. Cut the soda and shit liquids and drank water. Get an hour of intense exercise in each day. Go to sleep by midnight, lights out, computer off period. I lost the weight and now have a healthy lifestyle first. Eating well gives me the energy I need. No headaches, I take frequent breaks from the computer, get outside for fresh air each day. The exercise clears your mind and your body loves it. At night it helps me go to sleep within 5 minutes of turning out the lights, I can just wakeup in the am without an alarm. This way you actually save time because your body rewards you across the board for treating it well. You can end up getting a bit less quality sleep and you don't have to take naps and shit. |
