Went to RUTH CHRIS's last night and mmmmm DINED AND DASHED :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Steakhouse for winners, awesome service, great food :thumbsup

Once at a Denny's, but I was GENUINELY unaware... I used the restroom at the end of the meal, and when I came out the person I was with was by the door. They said 'All paid up, including tip, lets go' so I followed them out, got in their car and drove off. I had no reason to disbelieve they had paid.

I found out about a month later, when they were arrested for doing the same thing with someone else, it turned out that it was their 'thing' and the perceived confidence of the innocent party, helped sell it...

Only 1 time and unknowingly.

A friend of mine called me one night and asked me if the wife and I were doing anything that night as him and his wife were having dinner and drinks at a local restaurant and would we like to join them.

My wife and I get to the place, Friend and his wife are pretty hammered from drinking for a bit and a pile of appetizers roll out they had ordered before we got there.

We all order dinner ...desert, drinks and hang out for a few hours.

Since this was an outside garden style place, we could walk out to our car easily. At the time I smoked grass and as usual, had some green in the truck. Friend decides that instead of waiting until after we leave, let's walk outside have a smoke, then roll back to our wives and then hit somewhere else.

Were at my truck standing behind it. He calls his wife tells her to get up and come now and bring my wife with him. Now all 4 of us are outside .... he goes, Oh, hey I paid the tab already so its cool if we bail. I knew he has SERIOUS paper ... and had been out a ton of times before where he took care of things. ...

We drive off .... the thing that tipped me off initially something was up was both he and his wife had the hand blown glass stemware and a pretty full drink in my truck as we drove off.

Few miles away he tells me - We never paid and I hope they didn't get your tag on the truck. All the while laughing.

7 years later ... No call from the place, but we NEVER to this day set foot in there.

Net: I was BEYOND pissed at him for doing this, potentially getting all of us jammed up over nothing when combined we pull down close to $1m a year. I felt really bad for the servers and restaurant owner that we bailed on a $200+ tab.

Ya I did once with a buddy. We got really drunk and when the shift change over for the waitresses happened we got no service as if we weren't even there so we left!

I know you were in Tampa but I thought you moved. So you will take me out for dinner? I will have the car ready to go for you to run out :winkwink:

Never have but what's worse is charging the meal to someone else's room. Happened to AaronM many years ago I think in Florida. Dumbest move ever.

Again once by accident - Had a row with my dining partner and walked out - She thought I had paid and left as well - We only realised the next day...

I had the same thing happen to me at Ruth's Christ the waitress definitely was judging me as I was super young at the time with my gf, service was complete crap and we walked out before ordering our meal.

Another time at another place, took about 45 minutes to get our first drinks and then over an hour waiting after our order and no meal, we just walked out.. not sure if these "fully quality"

Nearly walked out on a bill at Brasa's Steakhouse in Niagara Falls when they attempted to tack on an additional "Destination Tax" after the meal. Fought it out with the manager, but since it was a special occasion with the parents...didn't want to stand my ground and have cops involved and totally ruin the evening.

Had it just been the wife and I involved - would've invited them to call the cops and push it to the next level.
