So Russia is invading Ukraine now? 8 murdered by Russian backed "rebels"

(AVDIIVKA, Ukraine) ? Heavy artillery and rockets hit residential areas in eastern Ukraine Tuesday amid a new outburst of fighting between government troops and Russia-backed separatist rebels, leaving at least eight people dead and dozens injured.

Salvos of heavy-caliber artillery were heard throughout the night and late morning in Avdiivka, a town on the northern outskirts of the separatist stronghold of Donetsk where residents have been without electricity for days. In Donetsk, at least one civilian was killed by shrapnel.

Fighting around Avdiivka has cut water and power supplies for most of the town and it was left without heating in the dead of winter. Temperatures plunged to minus 18 Celsius (0 F) on Tuesday morning.

The warring sides blamed each other for the spike in hostilities, the worst in months. The Ukrainian government was considering evacuating 12,000 residents from Avdiivka, Pavlo Zhebrivsky, head of the administration in charge of the government-controlled parts of the Donetsk region, said on Facebook.

With no signs of an immediate evacuation in sight, some residents went to a local bus station, hoping to get away from the heavy shelling.

your original post specifies that it's rebel held area that is being shelled.

so.. they are going around shelling themselves?

furthermore, it's ukrainian rebels no? or russian backed ukrainian rebels? russian rebels makes little sense

I saw that too, 12 days in a row now of "live on TV" signings of EO's that basically have no power.

The Russian who??? Rebels? The local Ukrainians citizens are Russian rebels now? Are you drunk, dude? Learn this simple phrase and use it in future: "the Ukrainian rebels supported by Russian government". The government, dude. Not by whole Russia. I'm a Russian citizen, so I'm a part of Russia and I do not support 'em.

P.S. We have no rebels in Russia. The Ukraine has them.

So Putin wants to take the Ukraine back?

Or maybe you say if the "pro Russia rebels" take over Ukraine Putin will grant them their wish of becoming part of Russia? :1orglaugh

What's really going on is that Kiev is advancing on rebels i.e. Kiev is the aggressor

Why don't pro Russian Ukrainian rebels move to Russia? Why didn't Ukraine jail or kill these "rebels" in the beginning?

Course not. Why he would want to join a territory with no resources, a full-scale AIDS epidemic and almost 50 millions of poor people who must be fed from the Russian budget? Maybe you can explain me, how he could gain any profit of that? It will be much better if the EU will make a visa free regime for them. That will be a real fun ;)

Who told you they are "pro Russia"? There are many parties involved and most of then want independence from both Russia and the Ukraine. You have a very superficial knowledge about the real situation there.

I don't know the ins and outs of Ukraine but I very much remember that when all this fighting broke out it was heavily reported that area of Ukraine the Russians were attacking had lots of industry stuff.

Perhaps now it's all bombed ruble and Russia doesn't want to clean up the mess but they are more than happy to destabilize Ukraine by supporting the rebels.

All these poor people don't get free guns and ammo from the tooth fairy....

The article says they are "Russian backed rebels". So why does Russia spend money & resources to back then? What is the benefit to Russia?

i know almost nothing about the conflict that is why I'm asking basic questions :thumbsup

They have tried. This is the real video (non-staged): the regular Ukrainian army aviation vs the Ukrainian citizens (you call them "pro Russian rebels")... on the Ukrainian territory (warning, it's a graphic video):

The second video filmed in the same place after bombing is even more graphic. If you think it can hurt you, just don't watch it. You were warned!

Blessed by Obama, of course. Do you like it? And after that you are asking why these people are fighting against the Ukrainian army? What will you do if those were your own mom, sister or daughter? The Western media doesn't show these videos, right? Like if not shown - never happened.

This is not about imagination. This is that already happened. And I'm not the one who can decide what the government will do. I just say if the army (doesn't matter of which country) would do something like that to my relatives, I will die but try to send to hell at least a few of those butchers.

This is not the case here : it is Ukranians, of russian descent, living in the east for centuries, that want to have autonomy from the slavic regime in Kiev ...

Evidently Putin has indicated to America that if we want peace in Ukrain we have to give him something in return WTF?!

"Kiev is eager to win support of the new Trump administration, and for this they need to show that separatists and the Kremlin are derailing the peace accords,? he said. ?For the Kremlin, it?s important to show that it holds war and peace in its hands; if the new U.S. administration wants peace in Ukraine, it needs to offer something in return.?"

USA captured power in Ukraine and make bloody games for provocation us.
But no we not will make invasion - let usa spend your money on 40 million people and take "nazi-antirussian warriors from road peace" refugees.
And we do not give to solve this conflict by military means - only through negotiations

I can't read his weird mind, but I guess he's using that conflict like a trading card in hope to lift the sanctions from his friends oligarchs. The sanctions were imposed after the annexation of Krimea which was really important to Russia. That was not a game and that's why Krimea was annexed so fast and easily. But that's just IMHO. I really don't know what's going on in his mind...

This is not so easy question as you may thing. Many Russians have relatives in the Ukraine and vice versa. In fact we are the people of the same ethnicity (all Ukrainians are ethnic Russians). The normal sane people in the both countries still love each other and have no hate. They hate the governments instead. But here and there is a huge bunch of brainwashed idiots who is used to watch the federal propaganda on TV.

Russian and Ukrainians propaganda is the same shit but with just a different vector. The Ukrainian propaganda says that Russians are going to invade them (what for, I have no idea). The Russian propaganda says that the Ukrainian Nazi took power over the country and they have to be stopped. Both propaganda machines lie of course and normal people understand it very well. US supports Ukraine in the UN. Nothing more than meaningless bla bla bla talk.

Russia on the other hand has a regular fucking army in there.

Do you really think Ukrainian army (a country with 45 million citizens) wouldn't be able to take out some starved-out rebels holed up in a city? There is a full fledged russian army operation in there with neverending supplies, tanks, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, Surface-to-Air missiles, snipers, etc etc. And they are bored out of their mind, so they just attack random shit every day (like shelling some nearby Ukrainian towns for fun)

I blocked JoshuaG months ago he's abrasive and stupid, really stupid, like mental disorder or hit too hard with permanent brain damage stupid.

The drawback to communicating online with people like Joshua who don't want you to see them, is you can't tell by their manerisms, twitches, lack of eye contact etc. to see what their mental deficiency might be. We have to rely on their written communication to gauge their various mental deficiencies.

He thinks me asking Russians to explain the conflict to me is arguing. Clueless.

thanks for your view of that.
as i said there are so many issues in this world that it is really impossible to get behind every curtain espeacially because neutral informations are hard to find.

but i am always interessted in everything what happend around the world and try to count 1 and 1 together. i have studied economy and i am a full blood marketer from my soul. and that leads me to an aspect what is not that much in the focus of all public discussions.

at the end of the day there is only ONE thing what rules the world and that is money.

the biggest (export) industry in the world - far bigger than any other - is the weapon industry. the yearly budgets for weapons in the world is at the moment on this number:

1.120.586.424.900,-- US

that is around 20% higher as the complete revenues of the worldwide pharmaindustry.

sure there are also exhibitions around the world where potential buyers can order weapons. but how can they knwo that their enemy did not buy something better? how can they know if a weaporn will do the job in a serious confrontation?

the 6 biggest exporters of weapons in the world are

number 1: USA
number 2: Russia
number 3. China
number 4: Germany
number 5: France
number 6: UK

so now imagine the formula one.

the big players there are
ferrari, mercedes, bmw and a few more.

if mercedes win the formula one the sales of this brand will increase SIGNIFICANT.

what i mean is - and yes i do not mean that as a joke because i believe it is the sad truth - that wars in the world are nothing else than the formula one of killing.

THERE they can show and competite in an existing conflict who makes the better weapons and sell more.

since 1945 all the mentioned parties had never a direct war in between them. but whenever a conflict in the world was, you could see that is is a competition of material delivery.

HOW COMES that formula one is existing??
because there are many people who like it!

HOW CAN weapon industry be able to create "FORMULA ONE WARS" ?
because they made people HATE each other - that does not mean that people love wars but it make them think they are nessecary.

and i think that is one if not THE ONE basic problem.

greetings
thommy

So yeah, Russian propaganda is spewing bullshit about Nazis. Putin is a bonafide fascist dictator himself.

He doesn't arm eastern Ukraine. There is no one to arm. Well, there is a handful of losers who never wanted to work - like chronic alcoholics drug and addicts so now they earn their keep by fighting in the war. They also freed up all the prisons in exchange that the prisoners would fight. But the main force is Putin's modern russian army standing in there who do all the fighting. You think some rabble could use artillery? SAMs? Tanks and rocket launch systems and keep a whole countries' Army at bay?

Putin already took a chunk of Ukrainian territory by force (he admitted it himself, that the russian army secured the territory). He now is trying to cause as much havoc as possible in the east. Because it destabilizes the whole country.

That's not what is being said in the video. It's a fake russian propaganda.

What's he saying is that the eastern cities are choosing war and ruin over peaceful life.

Because it already happened and is happening right now in the east.

Duh.
