Screen Capping a protected image?
I want copies of some photos from wireimage.com that are protected by mediarights.com . Im not going to use them for anything, they are just pics of my friends at Sundance. Is there a way to get around that image protection?
|
Print Screen :2 cents:
|
that doesnt work. Media Rights requires you to install their software in order to view the images and disables saving, printing etc.
|
In that case, I couldn't help you any further.
|
Take a photograph of your monitor.
|
|
Why not just email them and ask if you can get a copy?

Just hit print screen and paste the contents of your clipboard into photoshop. Done deal.

Don't think you will be able too. I have tried any and every way to do screen caps on things like this and never found a way. Sounds like they use screen cap protection similar to Quick Time. |
Bruce?? :)
Yeah, Im thinking it can't be done. :( |

Try this little trick..
The reason you can't see the image by using a printscreen is because the image is directly drawn to your videocard, not windows. Similar to how directdraw works with Windows Media and Quicktime. Here's the trick: Try opening a Real Player streaming feed while doing the printscreen capture.. dont know why this works, but it does.. It's how I do Windows Media player screen captures. |

Mike, what can I say? Your a genius :) |
SnagIt will capture this for you no matter what.
Just make sure you go into options -> advanced and set the capture to directx and if you're still getting the black box after that, just put your graphics hardware acceleration all the way down to zero. SnagIt gets snapshots of *anything*. |

Im downloading SnagIt. Meanwhile, I can't get Print Screen to work on anything. Nothing is copied to the clipboard when I try it. :(

Do Printscreen then Alt/Printscreen :) |
thanks Bruce!! :) That worked when I tried something that wasnt protected by that MediaRights thing. When I try to copy the protected pics it doesnt work.
I think this protection stuff just works well, dammit :) Btw, the software they are using is www.elisar.com Thanks for all the help guys! |

Ok hit printscreen or shift-printscreen, then make a new image in photoshop, it should automaticly be the correct size then paste the clipboard into it... just right click inside the new image and select paste if that doesnt work, then something is very fucking weird and its probably KC's fault |

LOL Everything is KCs fault |
Spunky!!! It doesnt work :) This MediaRights thing prevents you from copying, saving, printing, ANYTHING! If you try and Print Screen those images it just doesnt do anything, if you try and screen cap it with other programs it just results in a black image.
but it probably IS KC's fault, lol |
I couldn't resist posting....heheh
it's always KC's fault. |
