actually in this case Leaf's as a proper name of the singular title allow the rule to be Leaf's

Leaves would be plural of the singular noun as to indicte more than one leaf; the name of the team would have to be Toronto Maple Leaves thus indicating the proper name would reflect leaf in plural and would show more than one leaf in the team name
