So Are The Anti-War People Still In The Same Opinion ???

Now after watching the scenes on TV today, and that the war is at an end almost, do the millions of people who took part in marches and protests still have the same opinion that the war shouldn't have taken place ??

In the space of 3 weeks, yes some civilian casualties have taken place, but in those 3 weeks, surely now that they are over, millions more that may have been killed in future years will live on and have a much better life...

They didn't find any WMD!

they are in Irak only to keep the us dollard in a higher level because the euro is going high and all country of the evil axe are making their transaction in EURO and stoking their money in euro that it!

Right....this is all about making money for America. That's why we were willing to spend $100 billion on this war to make money. Good logic you got there.

yes, that's THE TRUTH about the war, keeping U$D's hegemony...

UnseenWorld 04-09-2003 10:39 AM

The WMD's are there. They are in Winning the War mode, and as soon as it's clear that good ole Saddam is NOT coming back, those who know where the bones are buried will come forward to fill in the blanks.

I'm watching jubilant Iraqis in the streets of Iraq AND the US!

Like I've said before, even if we're in there for the wrong reason, this is pretty sweet fallout. If you help an old lady across the street thinking she's a millionaire, but it turns out she's penniless, you still helped an old lady across the street. The right thing done for the wrong reason is still the right thing.

Now, I'm going to write my congressman to ask him to help make sure that this isn't converted into a blatant grab by the US govt, which would spoil it all.

That's actually pretty good.

So even if they didn't find any WMD, something was far wrong in Iraq, now most of that has been corrected...

I can't be againt this argument but the fact is Sadam was pimping irak for 35 years. So everthing was cool with him, there is a pic of Sadam chilling with Rumsfield on the web!
Why didn't usa liberate Irak when he takeover this country and killed all the gouvernement 35 years ago???

Yep im pretty much of the same opinion and i base it on a number of facts:

(1) The war was years ago and its still not over - attacks are daily and increasingly vicious. The worst is that there is no end in sight.

(2) Conservative estimates are that over 25,000 civilians have been killed, hundreds of thousands maimed. Not to mention losses in the western military. The real figures are likely much higher and are set to rise.

(3) The Iraqi people have no economy and no infrastructure. Damn, they dont even have basic medical facilities or utilities.

(4) Hatred towards the west is multiplying and attacks on our shores will be more common occurence because of this pointless, illegal, immoral and badly planned war.

You must have known that this thread would come back to haunt you at some point in time.... amazing how Iraq is such a pile of crap - the west has destroyed Iraq. Time to admit it.

But seriously though, i know what people are getting at.

But i'm sure i wasn't the only one here who thought for a moment that while watching those scenes back then, maybe there was hope, and that it was for something worthwhile.

I'm happy to eat my words when i'm wrong. I only wish i was right all along about it. Maybe so many innocent victims wouldn't be dead now...

Go fuck yourself.. I'm not a tree hugger and I supported the war in Afghanistan except for how it was run. The war in Iraq on the other hand, had nothing to do with terrorism.. However thanks to Bush's great ability to fuck shit up and not fix it, Iraq is now full of terrorists.

If you believe we went to Iraq to fight terrorism, then you are nothing more than a sheep falling the herd.

First.. get a clue as to why Iraq was invaded. Various fudged reasons were given including WMD - but none of them had any credibility. I never heard it was related to bin Laden's mob - did you?

Also get a clue as to the numbers of people who were killed or maimed because of fudged reasons. That alone is damning for any supposed western country who claim to have supposed "intelligence". Clearly the "intelligence" was not too intelligent. But any asshole knew that anyway - not exactly fresh news - the images used as evidence were already published worldwide before Colin Powell and the asshole CIA director presented them as being their "evidence".

Bombings in the UK have nada to do with reasons for invading Iraq, but invading Iraq may well be the reasons for the bombings.

BTW.. What war is nearing an end? After having fucked people up and killed/maimed their families for false reasoning - you think there is not gonna be a payback time? Gotta be joking!

If anything.. the "Iraq war" has fuelled the ranks of people like bin Laden - estimates range from roughly eight to twenty times more "followers" - thanks to lying Bush and Blair.

wedouglas 07-21-2005 08:10 PM

This post is just meant to stir up useless discussion. The Iraq war was a mistake and based on a lie, and it is nowhere near an end.

Kanon 07-21-2005 08:20 PM

To answer the OP, yes, I am of the same opinion. We should not be there.

What is it that you war mongers don't understand? Is there something blocking the logical side of your brain?

Do you not get that the terrorists from 9-11 were not from Iraq? The terrorists from the initial London bombings are not from Iraq either!

What is it that you don't get? You think we're fighting "terrorism" by invading and controlling a country which had nothing to do with the attacks or background of the attackers! By your logic the Yankees should've invaded Brasil for the mounting pressure against the Confederacy!

You were lied to and you still hold onto these hopes when it's blatently obvious that you're wrong, [in regards to terrorists]. It's really quite amazing how stupid some people can be.

There's never been as fractuous, divided a time as right now. Part of the reason is that people who threw all their support backing the wrong horse are very very reluctant to admit when they're wrong, and will be even MORE reluctant to rejoin the mainstream if people keep yammering on them with told-you-soisms.

Lots of very smart people were snowed by an administration with no moral compass aside from what they manufacture for PR purposes. The left needs to accept that people can make, and recover from mistakes and to try to make an earnest effort to build bridges with those people. The left must take on this task, as the right seems to have a congenital defect preventing co-operation except in situations involving mutual greed.

Unless, of course, you all enjoy sitting around like the chimpanzee cage at the zoo, screaming and flinging your shit at each other in between bouts of compulsive masturbation. :thumbsup
