Let's drain the swamp!

Rochard 01-05-2017 12:12 PM

This is what kills me....

I am not a Hillary supporter, but I failed to understand why people debated how much she was being paid to give speeches or even the money they made in general. One of the Republican points was how much money the Clintons have made since they left the White House. Well..... Yes. A former US President and a former Secretary of State will make a lot of money giving speeches. They ALL do this. I mean.... I am guessing the Clinton family can take a long nap for a year and still make one million dollars a year - I am sure they both get pensions from many places including the state of Arkansas and the US government, plus they both have books.... Of course they are going to make bank.

This fucker is getting nearly $200 MILLION to walk away from his job in the oil industry. You don't think that isn't going to influence his judgement in the future? Bullshit.

Do you really want someone with $200 MILLION in the bank making decisions for you? Do you think someone with $200 MILLION in the bank has any fucking clue what it is like to "get by" raising three kids on $80k a year?

His main mission is to remove Russian sanctions so Exxon can act on the $500B deal to drill in Antactica with Russia. Also the sanctions are losing Exxon billions every year in their steak in a Russian oil company. Make no mistake, Tillerson will be paid hundreds of millions more in the future, their is a loophole so he can be paid after he leaves the Secretary of State position.

"ExxonMobil helped defeat Russia sanctions bill. The company?s formidable lobbying operation cleared the way for outgoing CEO Rex Tillerson to help restore a program worth billions of dollars as secretary of state."

ExxonMobil helped defeat Russia sanctions bill - POLITICO

"Mr. Tillerson had expanded the drilling rights in the country in 2014, but the recent sanctions by the West on Russia has proved problematic for the companies that wished to operate there.

Exxon?s stake in Sakhalin-1 is the company?s largest project in Russia. Rosneft Oil Co (OTCMKTS:RNFTF) and ONGC Videsh Ltd hold a 20% stake each in the project, while the remaining 30% stake is held by Japan?s Sakhalin Oil and Gas Development Co. However, the oil giant has indicated that the sanctions have cost the company $1 billion."

Way to offer nothing to the conversation, support Republicans, and deflect with an insult to Democrats. Not that any of this impacts you in any way. Start some threads on the politics in your country expat :1orglaugh Putin thanks you for your service.

Where in the article did it say anyone was taking money for access or special favors?

He has to divest to avoid conflicts of interest...if the Exxon shareholders want to pay him that much, that's their business.

You don't even have an argument. :1orglaugh

The classic argument for the people that have nothing to base their argument on, but still try to defend the defenseless.. "The other guy did it too"

A man worth hundreds of millions randomly wants to be Secretary of state while working for a multinational Corp that successfully lobbied for legislation that makes it easier for the next Secretary of state ( him ) to lift Russian sanctions that will make billions for Exxon & Russia.

It's been spelled out over and over again and some people just look the other way for whatever ideological reason :1orglaugh
