What is the best ever family game?
 

I should have posted this before Christmas, not now but I am looking towards next Christmas now.
Family get together. Looking for something fun to do we always play the same stupid games.

1. Name on the head
2. Charades
3. Guess that tune.

Any good suggestions for games to play for the whole family. Board games are acceptable, like pictionary types.

Dominos are easy to learn and great. Pinochle is awesome if you are willing to take the time to learn it. Both can be played with teams too.

We just had a lot of fun playing Pandemic. I've got the original box and a few add ons. My wife's cousin lives up the road and we get together and play once a month or so...while the kids tear up their house for a change.

GFY has sunk to a new low.

the dream game. where you ask your kids to 'make a wish outloud - like - :"I wish to ride a bike.' then go to sleep. in the morning ask them if their wish came true.

UNO cards, really a fun game.

And I also suggest Rummikub, quite interesting game to play with family.

Catan is a great game, not very kid-friendly though

Each family member has a different colored marker - Have a drink, then you put a mark on the wall one inch above the last one every 10 minutes - Have a drink - Repeat - The one with the highest mark on the wall doesn't have to clean up in the morning...

Not suitable for children.....

It's available in a weed and coke edition - Also not suitable for children...

We used to play Monopoly ,Life and card games when I was a kid

A good friend of mine designed the game Pass the Pen. It is sorta like Pictionary, but with a timer. (I tried to post a video, but I haven't posted enough to do that yet)

Risk.

If your family is anything like mine nothing short of all out war ending in total world domination will suffice.

My family would have fights before the game even started, just over the rules.

Pandemic is fun! If you dig that sort of cooperative game, the maker's got two others: Forbidden Island and Forbidden Desert. Both are fabulous.

Current fav though is Ticket to Ride.
