dayum.

psyko514 04-08-2003 11:11 PM

wow. all SE/portals should do this.

NetRodent 04-08-2003 11:13 PM

Who's to say they don't? They may not publicize it but I'm pretty sure a couple of the major ones do share this info with the proper parties.

Doubtful. I bet the list would be hundreds of thousands per day. In the grand scheme, authorities dont care about people who "look" at CP as much as those who par take in the act of making it or the sale of it.

i think publicizing something like this would discourage a lot of paranoid surfers.

Most if not all major cp busts usually involve some type of sharing, or the formation of an online club or group at a place like Yahoo.

They start by having someone share it with a cop, and then they follow the list from there.

Now the guy who lives next door type bust is the idiot who took his computer into the shop to be repaired, or was found out by a family member or friend, or his puter was confiscated during the investigation of another crime.

NetRodent 04-08-2003 11:55 PM

You forgot to mention people who solicit minors for sex in chatrooms like that exec from Infoseek...

Sarah_Jayne 04-09-2003 02:08 AM

so, lets say I have a preteen child and I am looking for help on parenting a preteen. Of course the terms that have something else sexual connected to them are obviously dubious but the top term of simply 'preteen'. Fine, if the searcher goes on to a sex site after doing the search but should they be listed if they don't? dunno.

BritishTwinks 04-09-2003 02:20 AM

Sarah is absolutely right - these sort of lists are probably mis-used more often than they are used. I remember the time my neighbour had a mob outside her house because the local community thought she was a pedophile - in fact she was a pediatrician at the local hospital! :1orglaugh

Sarah_Jayne 04-09-2003 02:36 AM

cashaddict are you in the UK? I ask because there was a case like that over here recently.

BritishTwinks 04-09-2003 03:23 AM

Yeah, that's right - I'm in London.

Sarah_Jayne 04-09-2003 03:26 AM

okay, would have been even more scary if that happened two places in the world ;)

gothweb 04-09-2003 03:28 AM

Any search that should flag someone as a paedophile should be blocked. It's not exactly cool that they are able to tell which searches are illegal, and that they still let people do that search.

There's alot of miss-info out there...On my pay site entrance page I had --
"If you're looking for underage or KP you've come to the wrong place so get the fuck out"
-- and the search engine bot only read the "Underage and KP" and it was listed that way for years..

funkmaster 04-09-2003 04:06 AM

... finaly we have proof, googlebot is a pedophile !!!

I disagree. What if someone is looking for information about say, post traumatic stress caused by sexual abuse to children? I myself have looked up this very subject. Should this information be blocked to me?

RockDaddy 04-09-2003 08:28 AM

I was just searching yesterday for information on how to explain menstration to my daughter. Hope I'm not on some list now.

how does your search string indicate pedophilia?

'Any search that should flag someone as a paedophile should be blocked.'

your search string is very different than lets say. 'nude preteen, and/or lolita pics'

i see a difference anyhow.

angeleyes 04-09-2003 09:17 AM

There is a big difference between:

Jul 2002 - 11:10:06 ass ramming cum guzzling lolitas

and.....

04 Apr 2002 - 11:39:18 preteen models 161.184.18.234

They are lopping in things that have no relevance to KP. A perfect example would be the "latter". At my old job I worked for A bridal gown designer and when it was time to do our photo-shoots I had to find little girl models to wear the flowergirl dresses.

And of course this could be a guy looking for a perfectly legal site that he once visited that used that exact description.

While I would never use the world lolita to describe any site I promote there are those in this industry who have and will continue to do so.

Well, my search would have "sexual" and "children" in the same string. If there was some sort of "flagging" system, i'd expect that to be picked up.

smack 04-09-2003 07:41 PM

lot of proxy addresses on there.

I've done these same kind of searches, for the terms "child+sexual+abuse" or "child+incest+recovery"...would my IP be labelled as that of a pedophile because I myself was the victim of a pedophile and was searching for information on coming to terms with what happened to me?

My daughter in law always looks for preteen parenting. That list just gave me a shock. She could be on that...

I guess I better tell her to call me instead of looking on the net for help on her little one eh?

kmanrox 04-09-2003 09:11 PM

this listcant be correct, i must searched those terms at least 400 times myself, and theres only like 300 listed

Interlude 04-09-2003 09:18 PM

Jesus Christ, that's pretty fucking scary. What's to stop them from keeping lists of other search terms they deem objectionable?

PainInYourAsshole 04-09-2003 10:25 PM

huh .. and greengoz talkin about CP in russia , look the IP's , no single IP from RU. terretory , now fuck you american pigs , kiddie lovers :321GFY :321GFY :321GFY

UnseenWorld 04-09-2003 10:32 PM

"Lolita" doesn't (or didn't) really mean anything bad. It's a name meaning "little Lola" ("Lola" having become shorthand for "Lolita" in many cases). It's one of those perfectly good words, like "gay" that has been co-opted and ruined. Fie on Nabokov!
