I talked with a guy that works as a professor in US. He said much money for the University comes from Arab students. But they haven't been enrolling this year.


Have you heard these rumors? Racism brought on by terror attacks or less money from oil revenues for Arab countries?

They know another attack is coming? The don't want to be harrased by racists? Hard to say. Schools make bank off foreign students tripple tuition.

Thousands of Saudis may be forced to abandon their dream of studying overseas because of the oil price crash.

With its budget under enormous pressure, Saudi Arabia is having to cut back the generous scholarship program that supported 200,000 students abroad in 2015.

The government has been forced to tighten the rules of the $6 billion King Abdullah Scholarship Fund, limiting it to those attending one of the top 100 universities globally, or studying a program rated in the top 50 in its field.

Saudi Arabia is fucked. Their entire economy was based on oil. This worked great for them for the past fifty years but that's over. It's becoming easier and easier to pull oil out of the ground, and more and more countries are discovering large oil reserves themselves and now have the ability to get it. The United States went from being a large oil consumer to one of the world's largest oil producers.

Combined with electric cars becoming more common in the next ten - twenty years.... The world will have less of a need for oil.

Saudi Arabia is going to collapse and it's going to be a disaster.

I wonder if Russia is going to collapse in the same time frame.

I thought OPEC, Russia and Kazakhstan just made a deal in the last few days to cut oil production to raise prices worldwide..they've been dumping cheap oil on the market for the last few years and that didn't work to get more revenue so now they are going to limit the production. Smart move and they will end up with way more money in the long run

The Fed just hiked interest rates and are set to do so 3 more times next year, that on top of higher gas prices for us, not good for our economy, it means it's more expensive to travel and borrowing money is more expensive.
