A fucked up question

Ok say if you could dig one big hole straight through the earth, then you jumped down it. What would happen? With gravity pulling you. Ounce you got somewhere near the middle which way would you go? Someone asked me this fucked up thing now I am confused..
Yea its a stupid question, but still....

Assuming 0 friction, you would accelerate all the way to the center of the earth, then as you passed the center you would start to slow down. Eventually you would stop at the same distance from the center you started at and fall back in again, repeating the whole process. Forever.

Edit: purely theoretical, of course, since there IS friction and you would probably be burned to death long before ever reaching the core. Not to mention, if the core of the earth really is liquid it would probably spill into your hole. We're pretending none of these problems exist, though.

You would eventually just hoover in the core with no way out..

I say we drill it from Disneyland to the Middle of Downtown Baghdad and we turn the entire place into theme park for economic recovery

we call it the magic carpet ride

Yep, it's a fucked up question
To answer it, though: you'll never find out. I don't know if you'll be burned to death or crushed by gravity first, but it'll happen a long time before you hit the middle.

A fucked up answer: You would be incinerated before you even made it to the middle of the earth, so no worries.

There's no reason to think gravity would crush you. It wouldn't be any stronger at the center. At least not noticably.

All right what if I threw a rock down the hole:321GFY

Lava would squirt out of the hole, dummy, your rock would melt :)

The concept is the gravity and the hole, fuck the lava

Yes, there is a large chance that a black hole would crush you :) Although there is a theory, currently, which states that you would actually fall infinitely into the hole, never reaching the center. I wish I could remember the details. I think it's in one of my scientific journals.

As to the rest of you, I am not used to being agreed with but I think I like it :thumbsup
