http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2003150899,00.html Iraq protesters deface British war monument in France Vandals have defaced one of the biggest British war cemeteries in northern France with graffiti condemning the US-British invasion of Iraq, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) said. Insults aimed at British Prime Minister Tony Blair and US President George W Bush were sprayed in red paint over a monument to Britain's dead from World War I and discovered by a gardener last Thursday. |
Its ok to have a point of view, but to deface a monument of that nature is sick
|
Defacing the war monument of the very same soldiers who died saving their arses. Can you say rock spiders?
|
Um Vandals are responsible for that.
And its the SUN newspaper "reporting" hehe |
if they're so superior, you'd think they could spell "roastbeef"

Nothing new. Happens in Great Ol' America also.
About the phenomenon,,, will make you less stupid: http://collections.ic.gc.ca/tombston...alismstudy.htm Deliberate, Malicious Damage 1. Personal Spite. It is believed that personal grudges against some of the pharaohs may have been a motive for defacing some pyramids. Rulers who came after sometimes erased all references to the former ruler. 2. Racial Hatred. This certainly was the motive for the destruction of the tombstones of many Japanese Canadians on Canada?s West Coast during World War II. 3. Morbid Curiosity. Some people break into tombs just to see what?s there or for the thrill of it. 4. Ritual Desecration. Cemeteries generally (and some tombstones in particular) can be subjects of desecration during satanic or other cult practices. This could include breaking crosses and painting cult symbols on monuments. 5. Death Denial. Some psychologists think that teenagers deface tombstones because they don?t want to believe that they will die some day. 6. Bodysnatching. Bodysnatchers were people who would break into tombs, steal the bodies and sell them to anatomy students and medical colleges. They did this in Britain until 1832 when the law changed so it was no longer illegal to obtain bodies for medical studies. 7. Plunder of Riches. Due to the ages-old practice of placing precious objects with the dead, theft of grave goods has been a problem for a long time. Grave robbers usually caused damage when they entered the tombs. |

I would support sending you to Iraq ;-) Let me know if interested, I know a very nice hotel. |
21. Partying. Because of their remote and dark locations, some cemeteries attract drinking or drug parties that may result in damage to tombstones.

Major Civil War monuments defaced by suspected religious vandals By MICHAEL KILIAN Chicago Tribune WASHINGTON - Vandals suspected of acting for religious reasons involving the coming of the new millennium have been defacing major Civil War monuments and memorials, the National Park Service reported Thursday. The mysterious attacks, whose most recent targets included Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania, Antietam National Battlefield in Maryland and Manassas National Battlefield in Virginia, are similar to vandalism last year at a number of Civil War sites in the Mississippi Valley. http://www.amarillonet.com/stories/1...4108.001.shtml |
