Netscape sucks

Does anyone still cater to the Netscape user in their site designs?

I just picked up the new Netscape for the fuck of it (I'm on it right now), and WOW... some sites look really FUCKED in this browser.. Not to mention it just feels clunky and is relatively slow to open.

I'll stick with IE or Opera.

:2 cents:

I remember the days when sites used to have two enter links on their warning pages... one for IE, one for Netscrape.

Why the fuck would anyone willingly use this piece of shit browser now? Opera even kicks it's ass.

I sure as fuck don't cater to netscape

funkmaster 04-08-2003 02:38 AM

... you guys have no idea what you are missing out. the new netscape has an inbuild popup stopper and a great new feature they call "tabs" ... everything now is in one window, and you can even bookmark a complete set of "tabs".

.. I love netscape.

funkmaster 04-08-2003 02:39 AM

... and just to add, there arenīt too many exploits around for netscape, no autoinstall dialers and shit here ...

but: as of webdesign, I donīt put too much attention on netscape either, hahaha !!

andi_germany 04-08-2003 02:44 AM

I design for IE but I always check for Netscape and Opera also. I think its always a good idea to keep all your options open. Don't forget that there are many Mac and Linux users out there and Netscape runs on all of those machines. It's not hard to make a site look good for all browsers it just takes a little more time but I am also still using Notepad to design my sites ;)

Nutscrape is a designers nightmare

Well that's why I decided to try it out. I used Netscape years ago, but was on IE ever since. I just can't get past Netscape's slow "reaction time", and ugly interface. Plus it seems to fuckin act up here on GFY too... redirecting to a blank white page on certain posts. Strange behavior.

I use Mozilla.

Netscape is now too small to worry about when it comes to making a design cross browser compatible.

Background image tiles are still screwed up in the newest Netscape?

netstarz 04-08-2003 08:50 AM

Why in the hell can't netscape and IE at get together on how tables work??????? I at least make sure things work in netscape but I sure as hell don't build with it in mind.

Isn't Mozilla based on Netscape as well?
