Dilemma
Suppose you were offered the commission to make magical hats that would enable the armed forces command structure of some unnamed world power to come to decisions in a more informed way.
That is, using these hats they would communicate in collaborative "clouds" instead of having bits of knowledge wander up and down the ranks like ants on a tree. But suppose also that you knew that this hypothetical world power was romancing political ideas that were starting smell like totalitarianism. Suppose also that you knew that while the armed forces command structure was a kingpin stabilizing force in the safety of the world, that this very duty also manifested as oppression. You would be empowering them to make more informed decisions, but you would not have any effect on their collective conscience. Would you make these magic hats for them? |
You were bottle fed, right?

This is a real problem. Replace the magic hats with a collaborative knowledge management system. I'm trying to figure out whether or not I should do this. I guess I should've figured nobody would have the brains or the patience to comprehend what I wrote. Maybe Captain Morality would get it. |
It's funny, there are dozens of people who will discuss the Iraq war on this board ad infinitum.
But talk about writing software that will transform the command structure of the Air Force and they go right to fucking sleep. You're pathetic. |
