MN-500 Microsoft Wireless Base Station. Help!
 

A friend of mine is trying to get one of these suckers to work, so that she can share her cable internet connection. The software installs fine, but once the wizard is finished, it brings up a progress bar that says

"Validating internet connection"

She says it just goes on and and on and on. Should this take so long? How long should she expect to have to wait? Or is there something that wrong that could be causing this to take so long?

I had one of those MS Wireless boxes too but had to return it because it kept dropping out. I got an SMC instead which is working perfectly. D-Link are kick-ass too.

BTW From memory, the validation only took a few seconds.

Thanks. So it seems like something is preventing it from connecting to the internet. Any ideas? The troubleshooting manual doesn't even mention the connection validation, and i can't find a damn thing about it on the internet.
