France, Russian et al motivated by money?
 

Here's one for the "It's all about oil" people. It now seems that perhaps the French, Russians (and possibly Germans and others) may have opposed the war because Saddam's regime owed them a lot of money. Maybe that was more important to them than the freedom of the Iraqi people?

um.. I don't think it would affect their argument, the "it's all about oil" people know that a no country's stance has anything to do with the freedom or lack thereof for the Iraqi people. Even little 'ole Australia is trying to divvy up the post war spoils.. it's all about the loot whether you eat french or freedom fries makes no difference.

That's funny. The entire population of China doesn't equal 5 billion people. In fact, it's about 1.3 or 1.4 billion.

You can probably find some Finns and Cambodians we didn't care enough about to send some troops in. But if they were oppressed and also on the verge of developing (or might even actually have) weapons of mass destruction, that might motivate us. Certainly, one can't do everything all at once, and the freeing of the Iraqi people from an evil dictator ain't bad as fallout, is it?
