NEW Design Company Website - Opinions Needed
Howdy everyone, My GF has been teaching herself webdesign for the past little bit and decided to throw up a design site.. Was wondering if anyone could peruse it and give us your options..
Thanks a bunch, the Url is http://www.kastudios.com/ |
On a scale to 10 (10 = best)
Design = 6 Programming = 2 Spamming = 11,6 banners = 7 Nothing new in the design, why choose you over any other designer? You have to give the customer something special or something to remember you with |
Not really bad... the text is a little bit hard to read though and the colour scheme is a little dark. Good work on the banner design. How long has she been into design? your story doesn't tell that
The prices are a little high, especially the logo design for $75. Make that $30 and you will have a better chance at selling logo development :thumbsup TheViper |
Not too bad for a beginner. Tell her she did a great job!
One thing that bothers me is the navigation. It's copied off of: http://www.metacanvas.com/EN/index.html (just a slight different color). It's really not anything major... I've seen far worse. Btw, she spelled "portfolio" wrong. |
She has been doing adult design for about 3-4 months now..
She has a few mainstream projects that she has done, notable http://www.backmanart.com .. Pretty fucking funny about that metacanvas.com, I swear to you personally we have never seen that site in our lives.. that is pretty funny though that site is so similar, I can see your point.. Thanks again for the tips on the prices, we will change those immediately and make them nice and low.. Thanks to all of you, you've been a great help! Definitely open to more suggestions and comments.. |
Constructively speaking... lower the prices, practice more... then you'll have the portfolio to demand better rates. At best what I saw was mediocre.

But on a funny note if you want to compare something to metacanvas.com go to Datahosters
Now, It could be the same company, but the companies that hold rights to both domain names aren't even in the same state :) |
Ok, on your guys' advice the prices have been lowered..
She doesn't want to go that low for logos, but 45.00 is pretty good.. Do you think the prices are appropriate now? Cheers |
dunno, the text is kinda hard to read, but it doesn't look too bad. the thing that was the most annoying is the center is not aligned with the background in netscape. it's down a few pixels from the background, and that kinda makes it look dumb. i assume you made it for IE?
check your browser compatabilities, you don't really need to have it run with lynx, but IE and netscape would be good. :2 cents: |
A good lesson to learn and very fast is to be very carefull the size that you design something. Remember that most adult webmasters do it them selves or have some one that already does it for them, there fore you will need to find some outside customers just to help out at first. To make a little cash and get your work around.
So keeping in mind that the general public uses the monitor setting 800 X 600, you have quite a few changes to make. Take a look at your site in that setting. |
hrm, i think i am going to make a lynx-compatible site that's pretty, with neat ASCII art. r0x0rz.

THIS DESIGN IS FUGLY!
FUCKIN UGLY! |
Do you really think most adult webmasters have their browsers set to 800x600 ?
When we do Designs for clients it is always designed for 800x600 but my assumtion(and maybe I made an ass out of you and umption) was that most adult webmasters would have their res at least set to 1024x768, if not higher.. I know mine is at 1600x1200 .. What do you guys have your res set to? Cause I know that just under 50% of surfers are at 800x600, but I did not think that applied to adult webmasters |
