Trump already back peddling on campaign promisses

First he quietly removed his "Muslim ban" from his webpage. Guess he's now ok with not vetting terrorists entering the country..

If that wasn't enough, now he's talking about just amending Obamacare not repelling it like he promised to do..

He also no longer talks about his wall..

He's a born & bred socially liberal Democrat Manhattan billionaire who switched to the Republican party right before running, like Bernie switched to Democrat right before running.

What's wrong with Trump saying he's keeping Obamacare?

It's creating divisions in the Republican party. Trump said over and over he would repeal and replace it. During his meeting with Obama, the President asked him to keep the parts of Obamacare that allowed people with pre-existing conditions to get insurance and asked him to keep the part that allowed kids to stay on their parent's policies until they were 25. Trump then told the WSJ that he didn't have a problem with these and that maybe the best thing to do was to "fix" Obamacare to make it work better.

A lot of Republicans want to repeal and thrown in the trash can. Many others realize if they take away 20 million people's health insurance overnight there would be a huge backlash. Trump seems to realize this. It seems like he might be genuinely thinking about the best way to go about this in order to get the best coverage/care/deal while getting rid of the bad parts of Obamacare.

Of course, it all comes down to how well they will lower/control the costs of the actual healthcare. If they can't keep the costs from going up, then any program they put forward will likely fail.

Yeah I cancelled my healthcare it was through the roof and for nothing.

The problem is insurance & drug companies like the Obamacare mandate, they are making a fortune. If Trump forces them to negotiate drug prices and lower the cost of premiums he will have 2 huge enemies.

It will be interesting to see who Trump morphs into as president. Its completely unacceptable that nobody on either side knows who Trump is really planning to be, but he's the electoral colleges choice.

Obamacare was never perfect from the start, it was always just the "first step" but unfortunately, rather than help "fix it" Republicans in Congress just wanted to repel it because they literally hate America if the POTUS happens to be Democrat..

They are like whey 12 year old brats that need to be smacked on the ass...

A man dies and faces St.Peter, he is given the choice of heaven or hell and will visit each before making his choice.

Heaven is first and as expected is peaceful and full of good people and lots of good times.

Hell is next and there's a wild party going on with booze and women and sex and debauchery.

The man decides when facing St Peter again to choose Hell and is wisked back down. Blackness, overwhelming heat and cries from the suffering greets him and he asks the Devil "wait, I was here just yesterday, what happened to the party?"

The Devil answers "Yesterday we were campaigning, today you voted." :)

I've been saying or a while that Obamacare was step on towards getting a single payer system like they have in Canada and pretty much everywhere else.

beerptrol 11-11-2016 08:24 PM

Of course he is. He's getting advice from people who are part of the establisment. Next he'll be adding the establisment to his cabinet. But it's all good because he is a republican and not Hillary

He needs to transform Obamacare to single payer for healthcare to succeed and force negotiation on all drug prices ( Trump loves to negotiate and get good deals )

As a republican.
I would be absolutely OK with that.
I don't know why anyone wouldn't be.

You might as well of kept coverage as you'll pay big fees for the months you don't have coverage. https://www.healthcare.gov/fees/fee-...being-covered/

Geez, at least let him take office first. There's a list a mile long of unfulfilled promises Obama made on the campaign trail.

We all want to take down the "establishment". But the reality of it is the "establishment" is whomever is in charge. And there is always someone in charge.

And if you think Trump isn't part of the establishment, you are kidding yourself. Trump himself has admitted to "buying and selling politicians".

All these white guys beating off to Trump's words and they believed him.
Trump fucking TROLLED everyone to win and it worked. This is hysterical, if it wasn't so sad and embarassing.

They don't care. They will be Trump cheerleaders and defend all of his backpeddling and fuckups like they defended all of his scandals while he ran. Trump's a Manhattan born & bred liberal Democrat for all his life but for right before running for POTUS :1orglaugh:1orglaugh :1orglaugh

I'm assuming you're joking or incredibly naive, Obama has more broken campaign promises than the last 4 presidents combined, well over 100.

I just wanted to see if you knew any off the top of your head. Trump will have a list of broken promises as well, all presidents do. I guess I'm naive.
