SSHD vs SSD

On a mac, is that really important? I mean HDD is FUCKING slow, how slow SSHD is comparing to SSD in reality?

Danke.

ssd seems to most definitely be faster on windows, not sure about MAC though :2 cents:

best solution for speed and data integrity on mac is SSD for everything and HDD for time machine backups IMO, OP.

Do they still make Mac's without SSD? Wow, just wow

SSD is for OS and working files, HDD are for saved files and External HDD for backup.

yuu.design 10-30-2016 01:14 PM

ssd is the best choice

Relic 10-30-2016 03:07 PM

get ssd m.2

I use 3 SSDs in my personal office desktops
The Intel is the best one.

I have 1 Seagate SSHD on a low use computer -- it is fast but not as fast as the Intel. I don't see much difference between the Seagate SSHD and the Samsung 850 I use on another computer here but the load on the SSHD is a lot less -- I haven't benchmarked them.

For server/enterprise/high-end PC use the Intel it's much better than the Samsung. We had too many drive failures with the Samsung SSD and only use the Intel SSD on our servers.

An SSD will not heat up like a SSHD will in a laptop and will perform better -- the SSD has no moving parts -- a SSHD does.

Newegg.com - SSD, Hard Drive or Hybrid?

Get an SSD and put your operating system on it, you wont regret it. HDD is antique and I will never put one in my computer ever again. You will see a performance increase in everything you do from booting to loading software etc.

I'm quite happy with the samsung 850 pro discs even though I haven't tried any intel just yet.
