Banner Sizes You Use Most?

Title says it all but I wanted to get an idea from Webmasters what banner sizes you use most to promote sponsors or see other affiliates using the most.

Getting ready to optimize our promo tools more and want to make sure we have everything you guys need!

160x600, 200x200, 300x250, 400x400, 570x760, 728.90

Skyscraper, small square, standard tube ad size, big square, mailer-ish and standard horizontal.

We also run a 900x250 in our MA footers, so that is nice to see. :thumbsup

Obviously these are debatable

all the classic sizes plus 250x250 and 300x300

webgurl 10-29-2016 04:37 AM

These are standard sizes:

160x600, 300x250, 400x400, 570x760, 728x90

I stopped liking banners about 10 years ago ... However, they can make nice website decorations sometimes.

The only effective banners with reasonable CTR I see are mobile sized banners -- mobile is your best bet with banners.

300x250, 315x300, 338x235, 160x600, 180x1030, 900x250, 928x244, 950x250, 300x100, 305x99,

300x250 and 468x60, 468x90

You can answer this for yourself by going on exoclick and looking at the premium site list for every ad size.

If you do that, what you'll see is that people predominantly use 300x250 for desktop, and 300x100 for mobile.

I doubled my daily banner income by switching from 160x600/728x90/300x50 to 300x250/300x100.

As a rule of thumb, wider ad sizes tend to outperform their taller counterparts, due to their reader-friendly format. Readers absorb information in "thought units," several words at a time. Wider sizes let them comfortably read more text at a glance without having to skip a line and return to the left margin every few words, as they'd have to with a narrower ad.

If positioned well, wide ad sizes can increase your earnings significantly. The sizes we've found to be the most effective are the 336x280 large rectangle, the 300x250 medium rectangle, the 728x90 leaderboard, the 300x600 half page, and on mobile the 320x100 large mobile banner. Keep in mind that while these ad sizes typically perform well, you should use the size that best complements your pages. For more information about these ad sizes, see our guide to ad sizes. It's better to add one recommended ad unit than two smaller ad units next to each other.
