Car fucked up because of recalled product
 

my dad doesnt drive his truck and i just put the insurance on it and started driving it. we got a paper in the mail the other day saying the hood latch was recalled and i was on my way to work and guess what? my fucking hood flys up and goes thru the windshield while im driving 75 down the freeway. i pulled off to the side without any problems and took it in to the dealer. then they tell me its going to be 3 to 4 weeks. are they liable to give me a replacement car or rental car until then? i mean 3 to 4 weeks is a long time to go without a car.

yeah im fine, i was in the left lane so i just slowed down and pulled over to the shoulder. thanks.

From 3 to 4 weeks is a long time to go without a car. I 'm sympathize with you. What about rent a car? It's real way.

damn man, you are *lucky* as all hell friend, glad your ok. there are many scenarios where this could have become a fatal situation... yes, they definitely owe you a rental or loaner, no question about it..!

dodge ram 2500. yeah if i was in the middle lane and there was a lot of traffic i could have been fucked. funny thing is this is my "backup car" and i cant get it back for 3 weeks.

Same thing happened to me....must be a Michigan thing....lol.

Sorry dude, that shit sucks bad...especially when you have to peel the hood off of the front of your car like a damn gift wrap.

haha yeah really, i used one of those straps with a crank and it pulled it down. no way in hell would i have been able to do it by hand. the things holding the hood on were all bent and shit.

It's really funny once you get the hood back down...all the coils and shit are soo stretched out that your hood sits about 6 inches higher....LMAO!!!! :1orglaugh

Exact same thing happened to us with our old Taurus. We got a card one day saying to get a certain bolt fixed or the engine could fall out and sure enough, the fucking engine fell out the next day while pulling into McDonalds. Not only that, but it took the steering and exhaust at the same time. Ford fixed it all in one day for us and we even got a free tow.

I got into an accident yesterday as well. I'll post pictures in a few hours. It happened on the way to RENO, NV where we have our office.
you will be amazed that nobody got hurt.
