Computer Help

my os is windows 2000 pro.

here's my problem

while I'd be working with a folder with pics and would view thumbnails to preview the pic before opening it, I would see the whole pic, now I'm not seeing it anymore ,....any ideas how I can see the pics again?

thanks for your help

In Windows Explorer for that directory click on "view" then select thumbnails. I think that's what you mean.

Are you sure you've no disassociated your jpgs or gifs so that windows doesn't know they are images?

If they open in photoshop when you click on them in Windows Explorer, then I'd think the associations are okay.

try associating them with paint or something just to see what windows does.. also maybe you have too many in the folder, or try creating a new folder and see if you have same prob.

To resolve this issue, verify that the following registry entries exist for the type of file that you are trying to preview:
Registry key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\file type\ShellEx\{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}

Value: (Default)="{7376D660-C583-11d0-A3A5-00C04FD706EC}"

this is what has to be done, can someone tell me where to find this file?

DirkPitt 04-03-2003 01:45 PM

Did you try a simple reboot yet?

grand 04-03-2003 01:53 PM

DirkPitt

yup, did a reboot,

I have another computer running windows 200 pro, and I'm having no problems with viewing thumbnails,

I must have deleted a file while uninstalling some progrmas last night?

can I transfer it over form my other cpu, any idea what file it is?

grand 04-03-2003 02:57 PM

ok I follwoed everything on this page

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;192573

and the registry is not the problem, any other ideas?
