My Digital Camera DIED! Your opinion needed on this one
My good old olympus D-340R Died after 4 years of abuse
i was looking at this sony http://www.epinions.com/pr-Digital_C...ay_~full_specs looks like a good deal for the $$ any opinions? |
doesn't sound like a bad deal, really. i've had experience with sony, canon, olympus, and nikon digitals. stick with the big 3, IMHO, get another olympus. sony sucks. the memory sticks are way slower than CF, and still considerably slower than smart media

i did love the Olympus |
It all depends on what quality and usage you want from the camera. For general purpose 2.2 to 3 Megapixel camera is good enough. If you want something more eye catching then go for 4 - 5 Megapixel one like Sony DSC-F717 or Minolta 7i which are both 5 Megapixel cameras with bells and whistles for around $700 - $900. I personaly have the Sony DSC-F707 (previous model) which is a 5 Megapixel camera and totally love it.
Good luck with shopping :) |
i had an olympus d3000 for years, and loved it. now i'm going nikon all the way. after the f100, i'm pretty damn true to the brand. i DO like the 3.2mp elph.. for a very compact take-along, and it shares the CF with nikon. i figure after i get either the 5700 nikon or d100, gonna get a digital elph to keep in the car and for those occasions i don't want a bigger unit (and don't demand as much technicalities).

btw, the 3.2 elph is $399 @ best buy, i believe the 2mp (or whatever just below it) is $299. i'm sure they're cheaper online. if you're looking for a basic compact camera, i'd really recommend the elph digital :thumbsup :thumbsup |
