we will NEVER live, in any large population, on any other rock than earth, for any extended time, over generations.

its not biologically feasible for our bodies to live without 18% oxygen atmosphere + 14 PSI air pressure + gravity + unlimited water + protection from cosmic rays. the only way people live in space now is inside machines.

you cannot sustain large populations inside machines forever. even if you did, the first babies born in space, without gravity, are de facto not homo sapien. The child will be the first of a new organism, like adam & eve type shit. it will look like jabba the hut.

so stop with the liberal delusions of grandeur, that living in space will be like disney world. get a clue. we will live underground if we need to. but nobody is shuttling out to space to do anything but die.

They were talking about living on the moon. Until they found there was nothing of profit to be had. Same goes for Mars. Unless there's something on Mars that's worth $1 million a pound, no need to live there.

Robots are fine, cheaper and better than sending people into space. They can mine the $1 million a pound rocks, assuming there are any.
