Age 40, how does it feel when you get there?

If you're 40+, what was it like getting to age 40?

EddyTheDog 08-27-2016 04:02 AM

I thought it was a miricle I had made it that far...

Relic 08-27-2016 04:04 AM

That's a good way to look at it, heard the other day that some slate miners in the UK used to have an average live expectancy of 36

CurrentlySober 08-27-2016 04:08 AM

Not the best question to ask John Lennon... :(

MiamiBoyz 08-27-2016 04:13 AM

Guess you haven't heard but 40 is the new 30

He made it there for 2 months, then he got assassinated for being anti-war

I'm trying to get as fit as possible, so as I actually look better at 40, less than 2 weeks to go now

The fitness is mostly dependent on running, only injuries can stop me now, or the gout

yuu.design 08-27-2016 05:33 AM

hahha, good ones!

CaptainHowdy 08-27-2016 05:35 AM

I'm ageless.

candyflip 08-27-2016 05:50 AM

I just hit 40. Nothing much has changed.

the real changes are in the head... at 61 there is a GIANT difference in my thinking... the body is a bit worn :)

Nah it's cause you are a lizard person that can keep shedding its skin

Barry-xlovecam 08-27-2016 06:38 AM

Like skiing downhill.

Think of the trees that you have to avoid hitting along the way :upsidedow

NatalieK 08-27-2016 07:24 AM

maybe a little less exercise, but drink, eat & enjoy life the same as when I did when I was 23... :thumbsup

Brian mike 08-27-2016 07:28 AM

Nice one! :thumbsup

crockett 08-27-2016 07:55 AM

None of that is true for me. I'm in my 40s and still do pretty much things I did when I was younger.

No bags under the eyes, I mountain bike nothing insanly crazy but I hit the trails all the same. I will climb any mountain I can hike up. I don't do rock climbing type stuff but that's not because of age.

Hell I can still ollie a skateboard. Not that I do it, but I can.. I also hit the gym pretty much every day.

Age is just number, either you do shit or you let yourself think you are too old. Then you are.

pimpmaster9000 08-27-2016 08:33 AM

I beat athletes in their 20-s in pretty much everything...there is no reason for your body to degenerate if you keep working out hard and eating right...

Spunky 08-27-2016 09:19 AM

Better start shopping for a cane now and stock up on the geritol

lagwagon 08-27-2016 10:09 AM

I'll bookmark this and come back in a couple years :D

Pornopat 08-27-2016 10:25 AM

When you pass 40 your body goes down on average but your confidence goes up at the same or even at a bigger rate.
I am fat, grey and not very athletic at the moment. I do know how to make a girl crazy though. :2 cents:

Sly 08-27-2016 10:49 AM

The other night I got ID'd, I laughed. I asked the girl I was with how old she thought I was, she says 25.

I turned 33 this summer.

Take care of your body and mind. 40 will not be so bad.

What the fuck were you buying? If it was booze then why did she card you if she thought you were 4 years over the drinking age?

You were probably at 7-11 buying a 6 pack and it was subtle way of checking your id to report to the police in case the credit card was stolen. :pimp

Read again. The girl I was with thought I was 25, not the bartender. They have discretion to ID whoever they like. Many establishments set a rule like "if you think the patron is under 30, card them."

One constant in the universe - you're still a useless cunt.

I am going to be 48 next week. I bike about forty miles a day, I run four or five miles a day, and play basketball. Every. Fucking. Day. I feel great.

CDSmith 08-27-2016 12:01 PM

Just scope a few 40something babes on match.com and you'll soon see that 40 actually has become the new 30, at least maturity-wise.

For me the reality of being 40-ish didn't really sink in until I was almost 50. ha

Right now after the two back surgeries a few months ago I feel a lot older than I am. Hoping that will change soon.

So long ago, I've forgotten.

VikingMan 08-27-2016 02:02 PM

After I turned 40 I started to wonder if the pleasure from taking a huge satisfying shit was actually more pleasurable than having sex.

Three to four hours. I do an hour in the morning, an hour at lunch, and then an hour or two after work.

The fuckers here on GFY fat shamed me into loosing weight so here I am, sixty pounds lighter.... I feel great too.

SBJ 08-27-2016 07:12 PM

I just know I don't recover from hangovers like I did in my 20's and even 30's. I'll be 46 in a few months.

noshit 08-27-2016 07:18 PM

If You're Married, the next 8 - 10 years are going to be tough :2 cents:

Just be glad you're not turning 50.

Turning 40 was horrible for me, but I'm quite up to speed with the advances in stem cell rejuvenation and so on and I consoled myself with the promise that by the time I was 50 (if I made enough money) I would be starting to turn back the clock.

I'm now 45 and the only thing I've had done so far is laser eye surgery which has made my far-sighted vision better than it was when I was young.

There are apparently at least three companies hoping to start offering stem cell hair transplants by the end of 2018 Hair Loss Cure Isn't Here Yet, But Experimental Stem Cell Approach Looks Promising If I get my male pattern baldness permanently fixed through this before I turn 50 then I feel I will have fulfilled the promise to myself made when I turned 40. Stem cell rejuvenation for skin and internal organs will likely be available in private Chinese clinics by the end of the decade also. By 2026 (when you will be 50) such treatments will be widespread and it will be common for even pensioners to look like twenty somethings.
