When I was a kid, I had hooligans hobby. When I saw two mailbox combination locks of the same model, I was opening and swapping them. Actually it's very easy to "hack" a mechanical combination lock if you are not completely deaf. And yes I was a problem child :)

the last one's stupid, you'd need a key to get the copy...

the first one's obvious, it's how locksmiths work, the second one's pretty obvious busting the lock apart.

I know you can use half a tennis ball on old type locks, bashing the air in tight & moving all the pins out of the way.

All not needed if you look after your keys & certainly not wanted to know for thieves :2 cents:

If you can push a screw driver into a lock simply by hitting it with your hand it says a lot about the lock.
