I found a lot of money this morning and gave it away.
 

When the old lady lived in the house we owned, she said we could have a load of old coins her Grandfather and Father collected. Wen she was in ant out of hospital, she gave us a barrel full of coins. We took it put it into the shed and forgot about it.

This morning I told my daughter to go through the barrel dump anything of no value. Thinking it was good practice for her to research. In the beginning, we were only finding worthless to $5 a coin stuff, so I told her she could all the money she earned from selling them. I gave up and went to sit in the garden.

Around 12.00 I hear whoops of joy, she's found lots from the 1850s to 1920s that are silver and in good enough condition to sell as collectors pieces.

So far she's found $3,000 worth at 50% of the listed prices. :Oh crap

Why did I give up, she would have done all the work for 20% :1orglaugh

Can I charge her room and board now she's into money? :pimp :thumbsup

probably best to just keep the coins, it's a pretty decent investment, their value will continue to over time...

...instead of selling them for 50 cents on the dollar at some pawn shop, and then "investing" in a couple of handbags and a new iphone... which lets face it, is exactly what will happen, since neither you nor your daughter has any expertise in coins, and the new found easy $$ will be itching to get spent...

She's 14, good idea. Seems these two guys were serious collectors.

The coins so far are mostly Eastern European or Austro-Hungarian Empire ones. Found some more recent Japanese, Russian and Czechoslovakian with Stalin's head on.

At first, I was Well done, then moved to Shit why did I say it was all yours. :1orglaugh

Maybe keep the best and sell a few so she can found out how good it is to earn her own money.

Please for the love of god dont attempt to clean them if you think they are worth money even better send them to ngc if you think they are worth something.
