Have political postings on GFY ever influenced your opinion?

Exactly! LOL.

People who have made it a full time job to post BS and lies all day and night are so transparently stupid it's comedic!!! :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

As someone who has actually worked on political campaigns, one thing you are taught right away is not to attempt to sway or change someones mind on who they should vote for. Not only is not worth the potential physical confrontation, it is completely inefficient.

While there are people that post all day and talk political shit to friends and family, there are much smarter people out there registering people to vote in targeted locations, canvasing houses, making phone calls, and using other legal tactics to help get people to the polls. (Offering rides to seniors or those who don't have transportation. Visiting poll lines and bringing stacks of folding chairs, coffee, refreshments, and holding places in lines for bathroom breaks)

I am personally responsible for more than a dozen votes and I may very well be responsible for several dozens of votes, if not a hundred or more.

That is how you win an election. Not by shooting your dumb mouth off on GFY. :thumbsup

For $$$ i am willing to change my political views :D But we need to be realistic, people dont do politics because they care about people, they do it because they want their fat asses to be even more fat.

Yea, seriously.

Laughing is what I do on the inside when I find myself around a bunch of big winded talkers who actually think they are accomplishing something by disseminating their drivel. Knowing that I have the power to cancel each one of their uneducated votes is very rewarding.

Unfortunately, I don't have as much time to volunteer this election but I will offer to drive and make some calls. The software is pretty sophisticated. I log in online and use my own cellphone and nobody sees my number.

It is way more effective than bla bla bla time wasted spewing poop from your fingers on GFY. :2 cents:

Bullshit. This thread is clearly a professionally crafted Psy-op to demoralize and deter the soldiers of the coming Trumpenreich. You and your sleazy Paymasters will not stop the rise of the God Emperor.

Yes, but only from reading posts from intelligent people who have actually succeeded in life. Not the idiots who post daily on the subject here. What the constant can't seem to handle is that these elections are a race between normally 2 people and parties that have essentially the same goals. That they are only separated by the most minute and mundane issues and ALL want the same things in the end. But the sports fans around here have a need for things to be a competition, an us vs. them battle. A feud.. a war even! Someone from the other party says something once that you totally disagree with? REVOLUTION. There is never compromise, there is never debate, just name calling and allegations--either true or fabricated.

It's drama seekers trying to pretend their lives are significant. The smart ones observe, make a decision, move on with their lives and adapt accordingly to whatever will get them to that next step regardless of who is in office.

I find it unlikely I will change my political thoughts. I was a Republican, but now I lean Democratic.

With McCain.... He wasn't the right person at the right time. McCain used to be a firebrand and kicked ass, now he is just an old man.

With Romney, well, he was less of the solution and more of the problem - He seems to be a successful businessman but the realty of it is he buys companies using other people's money, charge huge consulting fees, and then walks away if it fails: Romney's team made money if they did good or if they went down in flames. (It's a beautiful business model really.)

After the recession, I look at politics this way.... The ONLY thing that matters to me in Washington DC is the economy. Fighting ISIS, Iran, Syria, healthcare, taxes.... These things have such a small impact on me. Taxes goes up, taxes go down, I do my best to pay as little as possible. Either way I have healthcare. If we put 200k troops on the ground in Iraq in the morning at the end of the day it will have no impact on my life. But the economy is another story. The economy has a huge impact on my daily life and everyone around me.

But what I see right now with Trump is just killing me If McCain was in office I would have been fine with it, same with Romney. Perhaps they could have done better than Obama; We can only hope they would have. But not Trump. Trump will be a disaster.

It sure would be entertaining though.

simply stated this is an exercise in you stroking your ego. & you are responsible for nothing. anyone who votes, is responsible for their action.

I'd wager half the people you line up tell you they're going hilary, but they think your a moron & are voting trump. VERY common among hollywood & silicon valley liberals. they back trump just cant say so. you can tell because their movies are still sexist/racist LOL.

corporatist liberals are the most hypocritical people on earth, hands down.

so keep bragging how you think you are helping hilary when your not. She cant fill a high school gym!

I drove at least a dozen people to polling stations who didn't have rides. They were all registered democrats, mostly seniors. We only had access to lists of registered democrats. The folks might not have made it to the polls otherwise.

Also, when registering people to vote, we didn't hang out at Nascar races or klan meetings. We targeted areas where we expected to find more democrats. Sure, we registered some republicans, but an overwhelming majority did so as democrats.

I will say this. I really don't really care too much for hard lined conservatives or liberals. When it came to our local campaign office's victory party, I couldn't really stand half the people that were there. They were just strange. That's just what you get when your dealing with hard leaning people no matter which side.

You and everyone else can read into everything and assume anything you like. When I talk about people trying their hardest on here to persuade people to vote a certain way, I'm not just talking about fire-breathing conservative hard liners.

Yes I used to think that Trump evangelists only had half a brain - reading some of the posts in this forum I think that may have been an over-estimate.
