Rio robberies Swimmers Can't leave WTF
 

I can't find shit about this but they just said on TV that they don't want the 4 leaving the area and took their passports except the main guy is already gone. The other 3 were t aken off the plane.
So is Rio trying to say they lied to cover it up so it doesn't look like the shit hole that it really is?
I've been there and it is a fucking shit hole. Even in the areas they said were okay were still a shit hole in my opinion.
Anyway does anyone know what is going on in this shit hole?

I think this is Brazil trying to protect their image. They don't want the world to think three US Olympic athletes were robbed at gunpoint, and it increasingly looks like the Americans turned an incident they incited into a story about being robbed at gunpoint. Brazil probably wants to make sure the air is cleared before they leave.

But it's not like they couldn't have been robbed because the place is fucking dangerous. But the swimmer's stories are falling apart. Supposedly they fucked up a public bathroom, and a security guard pointed a gun at them. They ended up paying for the damage and all of this equated to "A guy held a gun to our head and took our money".

Of course, the police could be lying also, because it's all corrupt as fuck over there.

Lochte is kind of a dumbass but for the entire group of them to hatch a plan to make up this story seems bizarre and pointless. However adults do completely fabricate stories to get attention and innocent people end up going to prison.
