Stylized Photos?
 

My background is in digital art. I only came into photography after years of doing relatively abstract art on computers. As such, I am often tempted to do especially stylized photo sets.

Do you think such sets are appealing to the viewers? Keep in mind I am already in a softcore market where people do look for something at least a little bit like art.

What do *you* think of photos like these? Am I insane?

I personally think it's really beautiful. The market for 'pretty' photography is huge... lotsa people are interested in that sort of good looking nudity.

ask your members/surfers if they like those kinds of photos, get feedback, do a poll.
I think in your niche they probably would appreciate them a whole lot more than the average porn surfer would.

I personally like the first one the best.

I agree with everyone else....they look great.

For some reason, the creative changes make them more seductive....if that makes any sense :winkwink:

I do tend to get a lot of feedback on the photos from the viewers. Generally, though, they are happier answering Vail's questions than mine. ;) So I figured I would bring up the idea here.

Basically, I put up such a set tonight, and was wondering if I let my creative impulse interfere with what the viewers want. In general, I think I should go with my artistic instincts, but I do like to make sure I give the viewers what they want, too.

I am glad people here like these photos. It's a lot of fun for me to make images that are a bit more than just capturing the scene that was there in the studio.

Took me a second to check... That font is "Herculanum". :) Glad you like the pics. I notice people seem to prefer the ones with the big fake boobs... even in art appreciate, instincts seem to play their part. ;)

Thanks. Actually, the boobs don't have anything to do with it. In the first pic, I love the contrast of the black and white against the blue. And in the second, I like the girl's outfit.

I figured it was just a coincidence. ;) I see what you mean, though. I am very happy with a lot of the photos in the Blue set of Marie. The color and texture, and that contrast works for me too. It's cool to have over 100 images to explore that. Back in my digital art days, I'd never make so many images in a series.

What fire is that? I make erotic art. Some people see it as porn, so for them it's porn. (shrug)

Wow. The comments on my stylized artsy photo sets have been much more positive than I expected on here. If the cynical folks at GFY think they are cool, then I am probably pretty safe playing with the photos. :)

Oh, and I woke up to a few emails about the new photo set, all positive. That has to be a good sign, as most sets don't get any comments from the fans.

I think it works for some shots, but I agree that girls need to relax a bit. Some models work better with more casual poses, some like the more composed stuff. I guess whatever works for them. Variety is the spice of life.
