Is it possible send username/password info via URL to .htaccess protected pages?

If I have a page protected by .htaccess, is it possible for me to just do some spiffy URL for each new user to gain entry without them having to type user/pass info into the browser???

You can put the login information in the url:

http://username:[email protected]/
