I would probably recommend cloudflare to the average webmaster here.

Thanks

i dont see cloudflare cdn as a separate service ?
or does it comes with the paid plan ?
i have seen some site's serve content using cloudflare cdn , but which plan is it ? 20 ? or 200 ?

and obvisouly akamai is best option but expensive one.

Cloudflare will reverse proxy to any http endpoint so the difference in pricing is the number of sites you have and level of service you want. I used them for $20/month for a single site before with excellent results. That was serving about 5gb of game content. It's night and day between their free and paid service. Try it though for free and get a sense if their network reaches your customers in the right way. Keep in mind this is an area where you really get what you pay for.

i would also optimize your images as well.

i use this JPEGmini Pro | Photo optimization for professional photographers

saves quite a bit of space and doesnt effect quality.

they also provide a server side version, imgur.com actually uses this.

but its quite pricy if you want server side, i just use the desktop app before i do any uploading.

i ran this on a directory of wallpapers totaling 5.6gb, it saved over 1.1gb of space.

:pimp

Is this for images, videos, or both? Global distribution or is most of the traffic North American and EU? MaXCDN is expensive, from past experience will nickel and dime you on additional zones and services you may need, video streaming wasn't great either.
