Does Epassporte make you buy a "virtual card"?
 

I just signed up for Epassporte....why does it show a virtual card purchase of $50? And what the hell is a "load amount"?

If you get it the normal way, you "load" $50 onto it, so now you have $50 on your virtual card. You can now spend that money online or take it out at a bank machine if you get their electron card (additional $35 fee last I looked)

$50 is the minimum amount to load onto your Virtual account. The funds move from your credit card to your Epassporte Visa Virtual account so you can shop online anonymously or you can make Peer-to-Peer payments to any other epassporte account holder.

Maybe it's a poor descriptor if it confused you. But unless you actually bought something with the funds you loaded on to your epassporte account, it is only referring to the load of $50 onto epassporte.
