I am new at building AVS Sites, and I need someone to critique my designs... I am going to add more promotional text in a little while, but how are the graphics so far? Do you think they'll convert???

How?

There are 3 elements in a tour: the graphics, the content, and the text.

Graphics. Your color scheme is nausea inducing. The graphics themselves actually aren't that terrible.. you do know how to put them together in Fireworks or whatever you used.. which is a start.

Content. That dye job, 40 year old redhead is just nasty.

Text. Your sales text sucks. It says nothing more than whats on the FNP script. "Sexy redhead siren" might be ok if there was something remotely resembling one on the page. Your title says "Nude teen..." which, considering the content, is almost a sick joke.

So you know how to put graphics together. Now you need to learn to create an attractive color scheme, select decent content, and write accurate, alluring sales copy.

In my opinion the best way to learn to do this is by surfing the tours of better sites. Go to adultchecks Gold list, surf 100 sites there. Go to a big TGP, click on the galleries and look at the tours.,.. see whats working for other people. Don't copy, just observe.

I'm not going to comment on the second one beyond saying that I wasn't kidding when I said I'd bet $1000 on a blank page with the FNP script converting better.

I'll rephrase my original question ::

Is there anyone helpfull on this board who can give me some tips to make the pages look better, so I'll know next time. I design a site, I know they are not perfect, but will they convert (with text added which I will do in a little while) I am new at building AVS sites...

you need to 'sell' the avs. Just having a signup box doesn't work all that well. You need to talk to the surfers and make them want that membership.

Yes, I know this... I am going to write up a table full of promotional text for the AVS, some preview pics, and put it on all of my pages, I was only asking input on the graphics for now... I'm trying to learn graphic design, so I'm messing around and I thought what a better way to learn would be to make some avs sites...

That is originally why I came here, because I knew I would probably be bashed pretty hard about it...

I am not going to go through life with blinking text and background music blasting on my pages... I'm trying to learn everything about web design I can on my own, so I'm experimenting...

I normally use darker colors on my own sites, so I thought being cheery would be better (it is kinda nauseating)

I was using free content from the AVS, I dont think she looks horrible like most of you say... no she is not perfect, but I personally think she was the best model they had available.

I am experimenting in design, and I normally use dark colors... and tried to be cheery this time... I am going to tone my colours down from now on...

I didn't mean to compress it so much, or I compressed it wrong, but it looked ok on my monitor so I let it go...

The model in the first one would definately not convert me, and the second one wasn't very appealing either.

Find some better models :)
