"Europe's population set on shrinking course

The researchers calculate that even if Europe's fertility rate instantly recovered today to replacement levels, the population would continue to fall - from the present 376 million to 360 million by 2100.

If the current fertility rate persists for another 20 years before recovering, Europe's population would fall to 290 million by 2100. "Each decade we delay will knock an extra 25 to 40 million off the population in 2100," says O'Neill."

Look at AIDS in africa. I imagine by the year 2100 the population of Africa will have decreased by a much larger %. Then again alot can happen in a 100 years. We went from riding horses to watching a movie drinking a rum on a flight to Japan within a 100 year span

For countries like France or Belgium, it is already too late. Not only is their population going down due to the low fertility (1.6 children per couple !!!) but their arab population is growing at an incredible speed (4.9 children per couple !!!), it is estimated by that the year 2050, France and Belgium will have an arab majority...

1.6 children per couple doens't have to do with how fertile they are ~ Belgians love to fuck goats, that's the problem.

im 20, and i dont think i will ever bring kids into this world for two reasons... one being that i see this world in an awful decline. dunno if it will be such a great place to live in another 100 years. but maybe im just a pesimist. number two:i see a lot of kids my age punchin out kids and fucking up thier own lives and those of the kids, children are a HUGE responsibility, that i know i have a whole lot of living and learning to do before i can handle.

Europe has been overrun by Turks, Iranians, and other non-European minorities. I don't imagine their populations are shrinking. I do imagine that the "white" European populations are shrinking, though.

Israel will have a more than 100% Islamic in a few decades, and it will be interesting to see if it then becomes an Islamic country instead of a Jewish one.

(BTW, when I use the term "overrun," I don't necessarily mean to imply anything other than legal immigration.)

Why is decreasing population a bad thing? Population densities are way to high anyhow. A few years ago, people were complaining that the world would be ridiculously overpopulated. "10 by 2010"... Ten billion people by the end of the decade. Will people panic about anything?

Women in the west are not reproducing at a rate even remotely compared to that of your average woman in the third world. They dont live in worlds of high employment, education, and social security. The larger the family, the more potential food earners, the larger the security blanket. In the west, women put off families for education and jobs. The age of reproduction for the typical blue collar / white collar woman just gets keeps getting higher. How many women you meet these days want to have 7 kids? How many of your grandparents grew up with families of 7+ kids?

White people not reproducing, third world brown people (read: the vast majority of the world) are fucking like rabbits.

The west is killing itself slowly. White people are a dying "race". In the next three generations the gap is gonna become glaringly apparent.
