How much time shall we spend on Social Networking sites and twitter to get right exposure for our business?

Does joining groups and following other people related to your business help?

Not IMO, it's a waste of time. Unless of course you can automate it.

I'd say it takes around 4-6 months on average to gain a steady social media following and and a loyal audience. It's up to you if you want to invest your time into twitter/fb/instagram :) Good luck

With the good strategy you can get a nice amount of traffic pretty fast (one month or so). For adult sites I have a lot of luck with twitter and tumblr.
