some of them are really fuckin well documentated and so true to life..they are doing a 2 part story on following domestic abuse victims...some crazy shit to be seen!

Pbs has some damm good shows.

Love to watch Frontline when I can.

My fav. series they ever had was Cosmos :)

TDF 03-30-2003 01:11 AM

front line is a pretty good program..i also love watching their international news...its interesting to see things from the other side...

there are 3 sides to every story...yours,mines,and the truth

sextoyking 03-30-2003 01:13 AM

Very True! :)

I goto Europe about 6 times per year for 2 weeks each as we have an office there. Really cool to watch news over there. Almost the same as over here, but they do have diff. viewpoints on alot of things, especially relating to usa issues.

I imagine PBS will have less and less budget in the mid to long term to produce those great programs since there is so much competition doing them now like Discovery...so who will want to contribute funds to support something thats being done well already.

sextoyking 03-30-2003 01:25 AM

Hershie,

you might be correct. These repubs in the admin, congress, etc want to cut the pbs budget even more. I donate sometimes on there telethon shows. I hope PBS makes it for many many years.

Nova/Front Line documentaries are among the most worthwhile shows on television. i'm a huge fan...

sextoyking 03-30-2003 01:44 AM

Quiet,

Yep, I grew up on Pbs, most of my family were teachers, so we had to have a few hours of pbs viewing in the house. Glad I did watch alot of that, learned alot and had fun.

I watched a PBS special on the older Bush administration -> Current events...about Saddam, international relations...etc...amazingly good program.

TDF 03-30-2003 01:47 AM

You might be surprised to know that thousands of Canadians donate via the closest border stations that beam up here. As well, up here there is also a lot of budget pressure on our "public" broadcasting station and it is a large source of discussion.

Shooter 03-30-2003 02:07 AM

What channel is PBS??

All I watch is MTV and E channel, my brain is fried :helpme

Sarah_Jayne 03-30-2003 02:27 AM

luckily the BBC and PBS co-produce a lot of stuff so I get to see some PBS things but I do miss it and especially NPR. They should do something like BBC America but PBS for the rest of the world cause I would subscribe.

Teletubbies is BBC btw...took them a year or so to figure out that a large portion of its ratings were from people who were coming home in the early mornings after a night of clubbing.
