What do you think of the new Instagram features?
 

My thoughts:

Apparently now you can switch over your personal account to a business one where you can sync it with Facebook and get analytics regarding how many people visit your insta, etc. I wouldn't know because even after I updated our Adnium account this feature still isn't available for us as of this writing.

And this feature seems completely useless: Click on an account and see which friends are following an account: "this account is being followed by jonsmith123, blahblah and 5+ more" Great...except you can't even click on your IG friends from that particular account (like you can on Facebook) nor can you fully see the full list of followers you both share. (that 5+ more..)

Also I've noticed some light tracking on part of IG (or maybe that was always around I just never noticed it) now when you visit a particular account a certain number of times that you don't follow (ie girl wih no job) - because they'll start to appear in my suggested friends or suggested accounts to follow - moreover that account's followers/friends will start to appear in MY suggestions despite the fact that there's no mutual follow on either side :/

This makes me wonder if our snooping is then visible to the snooped and they see the same thing above :p

What's your take on the new IG features - business or personal?

Don't use Instagram ...

I think it's interesting that their new features abet trolling, and then, spam you to follow who you trolled. I despise IG & FB because they are hard core out to control digital communication and manipulate your emotions in doing so.

FB actually did a study using real users, without their permission, and gauged their moods after falsely putting negative stories at the top of their feed. Their intentions are not good.

Yeah it's really weird :/ My friend discovered a kind of loophole: If she 'stalks' someone's IG but then that person ALSO 'stalks' hers the effect is kind of nullified as they're BOTH spammed with each other's accounts in their discovery AND suggested friends categories - so then it becomes who visits the other IG account more - a kind of chicken or the egg situation is then created if you will.

And as many negatives as there seem to be to using FB or IG or any other social media it's still a great and powerful tool to promoting your site and getting that organic traffic :)

I've been wildly successful on other platforms but not so much on IG, the traffic I got was non converting. Does your traffic with them convert?
