great 80's movies?

So I'm bored tonight with a bottle of wine, an empty dvd player, and my laptop - I feel like watching some ass kicking movies that epitomize the flagrant 80's neon style, capitolism, and silly sayings. what are some of your favorites? so far these two are on my list:

- Weekend at bernie's
- Wallstreet

I think my list is going to be:

Ferris Beuler's Day Off

Weekend at Bernie's

WallStreet

the other ones are all good - but not quite what I'm feelin like tonight ... Top Gun didn't make the list because tom cruise is threatening to my manhood - my girlfriend wants him more than she wants me.

Just FYI...

Sweet tarts and wine don't mix well.

Sweet tarts taste great after wine, but wine tastes like shit after sweet tarts.

Of course who could forget:

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back

Wampas, Yoda, Boba Fett, Lando, C3P0 blasted to bits, Luke vs. Vader, the asteroid field, Imperial probe droids, AT-AT's, do or do not - there is no try, all too easy, they didn't even ask me any questions, luke loses a hand and that nifty lightsaber Obi-wan gave him, and best of all: Cliff from Cheers as the rebel officer who tells Leia that they have to shut the base door for the night.

Yeah, I'm a geek :thumbsup

The Terminator

Phoenix66 03-30-2003 03:44 AM

A lot of great movies were made in 80's. Or may be it's just my illusion because I was young then? Many of them already mentioned here.

My favourites are

Blade Runner, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Predator, Commando, Conan, Terminator (and some other movies with Arny), Big trouble in little China (and many others with Russel), Alien... Some comedies with John Candy, also with Lesly Nelson.

Damn, I forgot many titles already (I'm always bad with names), but they were great.
