I am going to start licensing pre-encoded video content and I want to get some feedback before I go ahead and do something no one wants... Here is what I?ve come up with so far

QuickTime 6 - Mpeg4 @ 320xx240 100kB-120kB
Real Media v8 - 320xx240 100kB-120kB
Windows Media v7 - 320xx240 100kB-120kB

I am thinking of offering every DVD, but also having it so that you can browse the clips of the DVD and license the clip/timeline instead of the entire DVD.

I'm thinking of structuring the pricing something like this

When buying the entire DVD:

$250 - DVD License
$30 - Per DVD we ship you (if you decide to buy the DVD)
$75 - First pre-encoded format (if you want the instant download service)
$30 - Per Additional format you decide on taking

So, if you bought a DVD license and decided to take the DVD in 3 different formats you would be looking at something like 250+75+30+30 = 385 for a DVD encoded in QuickTime, Windows Media Player, and Real Media.

Per Clip Pricing - Average Length 5 mins.
$6 Per video clip
$3 Per Additional Format.

Everything will be an interactive shopping cart with, with complete licensing generating to include everything within your shopping cart.

Every clip will have 5-10 thumbnails for easy browsing. And hopefully everything will also be indexed so that you will be able to browse by niche.

I?ve put a lot of thought into this and if there is any way at all you can see for improvement I am all open to suggestions. I create quite possibly the best interface to buy content with quite possibly the largest collection of indexed video clips. I want to bring this massive amount of content to you guys at decent prices and organized the best way possible.

Now, here is where we?re probably going to be hiring someone!

I know this is going to be a rough job so the person best suited would probably be immune to porn at its highest quality. This person(s) will go through every single clip and create thumbnail images. The person(s) will also watch each clip and select multiple niches, which will best reflect the content, which can be found within the clip. This person(s) can be compensated for their work with content and/or cash, which ever is best preferred.

I'm at roughly 8,000 video clips but much of the content still needs to be encoded and this will be a long term project as there is probably close to 1,000 DVDS to go through if not more.
